    I worked at BranchOut full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    I was at BranchOut for a long time. It was exciting to watch the company grow when we hit on the idea of doing professional networking on Facebook.

    Cons

    The engineering culture there did not focus on code quality and much of the codebase was messy and hard to understand.

    Fun working environment, passionate and dedicated colleagues, great culture and plenty of growth opportunities

    Sometimes too start-up-y, not enough structure but that's to be expected for a company of its size

    - a little unstructured, but that is the advantage of working for a startup

    Great company culture. Invested in educated and including interns.

    Lost the start-up momentum it once had.

    -Good exposure to a rapidly growing startup
    -Much flexibility within the role to explore different methodologies
    -Communication between lowest and highest employees

    -Lots of confusion within the MAP program
    -Treated unprofessionally, as if you haven't worked a day in your life before this position

    Advice to Management

    Create a more structured MAP program that produces stronger contributions and doesn't simply serve as a resume builder.

    Huge ptential in the space

    Rudderless leadership
    No focus on serving the user
    Acted like you were a successful company before any product was built creating a topsy turvy psycho ward

    It is too late for any advice
    Emperor has no clothes - the "leaders" have no idea what theyre doing

    I have been working at BranchOut full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great concept - career networking leveraging the Facebook platform
    CEO very well connected
    Unlimited PTO / flexible work hours

    Cons

    No real culture (handful of "events", no real team feel or office bonding)
    Everyone scared to say anything = no real culture
    No clear direction from management, lots of confusion, lack of direction
    No real value for users, deficient enterprise product
    Tried to sell products before finishing any products = disgruntled customer experience

    Advice to Management

    Culture is not about scheduled events, for example bowling from 5 - 6:30 pm.
