I have been working at Brand Union full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Has some forward momentum, both in quality of work and culture. Have corporate accounts, but atmosphere is generally pretty casual.

    Cons

Communication from leadership is inconsistent. Mean well, but cause confusion amongst day-to-day teams.

    Advice to Management

Articulate a plan of action, and clearly communicate next steps. Tap senior staff to help as needed.

I have been working at Brand Union full-time

    Pros

Most of the teams are great to work with.
They do not work you to the bone.
It's a nice office to work in (relaxed, open space)

    Cons

There are so many politics. They try to position themselves as casual and open minded but don't even bother. The benefits have changed and it's now very costly to visit a healthcare professional. The only way to get a pay rise is to say your leaving and then they will offer you more money to stay.

    Advice to Management

We are all here for the same reasons you (to get paid) so make sure we are getting what we deserve. And the HR crap is not working.

I worked at Brand Union full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of individual talented people. Account managers are encouraged to take full control of their clients and projects - no micromanaging which is great! However, senior mgmt is available and willing to help when needed. Collaborative environment if you take initiative to seek advice.
NY CEO is really great - smart, approachable and inspiring.
Work-life balance is reasonable with a generous vacation schedule.

    Cons

Anxious for growth but they had not managed to win any net-new business the whole time I worked there.
Silos and egos in the creative department made it hard to resource creative projects effectively.
Hard to get promotions since there is no growth.

    Advice to Management

Realize that in order to grow, you might need to let go of some people who are complacent. Try taking more risks! Hire more dynamic, forward thinking people who will push the boundaries.
