Remote team that offers great resources to grow into your role

None at this time. The team has done a great job of adapting to a remote first environment.

Pros

Cons
Nothing comes to mind in my experience
- Former Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Remote. Some managers are cool.
Cons
Let me start with the fact that if you accept a position as a content writer, even with a degree you will be making less than the starting wage at Burger King. You will actually be doing up to 80% of the work the rep above you is assigned, and seeing nothing close to reciprocal pay. They will expect you execute everything perfectly while providing 1 day of online training, most of the work you learn how to do on the job. I had to ask other content writers how to do certain tasks because none of the higher ups would show me. Making a mistake such as forgetting to remove a water mark or even being on a manager’s bad side will result in your hours being cut as punishment even when you are already not making a livable wage. Explaining to them that you are overwhelmed will result in them basically telling you to deal with it. Your position and assigned manager will change 50 times within 6 months but your pay will not. You can end up with a cool manager or a manager who is the complete opposite who micromanages and nitpicks everything you do literally for fun and racial bias. They will keep you waiting around online all day for work because they are unorganized and you will be forced to make up the hours you went without work at different parts of the week regardless of your set schedule.

- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
We have a team of solid engineers who are communicative, collaborative and talented. My teammates care about producing well-written code. They give and accept feedback without ego or pretense. They never turn down requests for help. Working with them and learning from them has made me a better developer. I have found the leadership at BrandYourself to be honorable, compassionate and transparent. They run the company with a clear vision and clear values. Management does a good job soliciting and responding to feedback. I feel like my manager has my back and makes my job easier. Tech dept is not four letter word. Leadership and management both understand the value of maintaining a healthy codebase. The holiday schedule and vacation packages are generous. I like the way we do scrum. I think it aligns well with the principles of agile.
Cons
As a smaller company we don't have the same resources as the big tech companies. Our devs probably wear more hats than they would on a bigger team. I can see how that would be a con for some people, but I think we probably prefer it that way.
