    Positive Outlook

I worked at Brandywine Realty as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours, basically worked as much as I wanted to on my own schedule. Interesting focus area and exposure to industry literature and professionals.

    Cons

Limited scope of work, not sure what happened with the work I performed or if it was just tossed in a recycling bin. Asked to perform some busy work

    Advice to Management

As this was a pretty informal internship

    Pros

Company believed in empowering their employees and providing them training tools to support their growth and development as employees.

    Cons

I didn't really have a "con" as I really enjoyed working for Brandywine.

    Pros

Great work-life balance; company has early closing on Fridays during the summer and also before most national holidays. This gives employees the opportunity to get a head-start to the holidays, especially if they need to travel.

    Cons

No clear path to advancing within company. Being a lean real estate company, with low employee turn-over, sometimes it feels as though there's no clear path to taking on leadership roles within company. You more or less have to wait till senior people move on, which does not happen often. If it does happen, it may be at a location that is not convenient.

    Advice to Management

Create a clear path to career advancement within company. One of the key reasons I left to get an MBA was to open up options for career advancement.

    Pros

Promote from within. Everyone is very helpful to new hires. A family like structure in a corporate world.

    Cons

    Growing pains in certain regions.

I worked at Brandywine Realty full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

From the very top, management regards its employees as it greatest asset. There is also a strong commitment to service in the community.

    Cons

As the company has become larger, it had lost some of its smaller company appeal. The CFO definitely brings a very non-personal corporate feel to the organization.

    Advice to Management

Go back to to your roots. You can still be a major player in the commercial RE world and still behave like the company that existed in Newtown Square and Plymouth Road.
