FilterMental Health Worker
I have been working at Brattleboro Retreat full-time (More than 3 years)
Small, independent hospital with long history in community.
Well known and well regarded in the state.
Several innovative programs like LGBT and young adult.
A somewhat active union for RNs and MHWs.
Decent paid time off.
Administration not always in tune with employee's needs or recommendations.
Wide variability of skill and professionalism of staff.
Far more mandated shifts than acceptable.
Advice to Management
Recruit from a wider region to attract the best employees.
Listen to and implement suggestions from the unit floors. They know the patients best.
