I worked at Bray Controls USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hours were ok. Pay was average. Challenging atmosphere. Great guys to work with in the warehouse and assembly line. Some of management was ok.

    Cons

Insurance costs way to much for what you get. Micromanagement, no one wants to take responsibilty for mess ups. Management/Owners needs to get rid of the attitude of "The customer signs your paychecks". If you take care of your employees, then in return your employees will take care of the customers. Cameras everywhere and that isn't really a bad thing if used for the right reasons.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. 1 bad manager can/will run off your good employees

I worked at Bray Controls USA (More than a year)

    Pros

HR works hard to get employees the best benefits possible. Company pays a very large portion of the premium. Potential for growth but it's very slow.

    Cons

Upper management seems disconnected from the everyday worker. There are "favorites" that get away with more than they should. If there is a problem child, their solution is to move them to a new department instead of firing them. Really quick to lay off to save a buck all while buying up other companies.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the little details. Reward those that are actually contributing to the growth and benefit of the company. Stop rewarding bad behavior with transfers. Craig Brown shows absolutely no care in the world for those that work hard.

I worked at Bray Controls USA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone at this is company is friendly and there is a laid back culture. Initially, you will learn a variety of different aspects of purchasing. The salary is average, and if you get a raise it is about 2.5%. Great work/life balance

    Cons

There is a lot of micromanagement in terms of when you get into the office, when you go to lunch, and when you leave. There are no clear work instructions or defined processes that outline expectations of the job. Some of the management is not familiar with the ERP system/Microsoft excel

    Advice to Management

Clear work instructions/processes should be defined for different roles so that employees, customers and suppliers are not confused with company policies

    Pros

Family Oriented company, flexible hours, programs to get employees involved in the Bray community.
    Jeans on Friday.

    Cons

People on edge regarding job safety, due to a recent lay off. Great employees were lost and fingers being pointed.

Still operates as a small business and have not adjusted to how other competitors operate in the industry.
The company strives for more sales without stopping to fix the issues/bottle necks that have been hindering the company from advancing and achieving success.

There are no career advancement opportunities although they were expressed during the interview process.
The company expects loyalty from their employees with minimal opportunity given in return.
Preference is shown to those who are friends of upper management and advancement within the company is only lateral.

Benefits are subpar, group has to suffer due to others.

    Advice to Management

Don't resist change, because it worked 20 years ago does not mean it works in today's industry.
Show the same investment in your employees that they give to the company.
Offer more training opportunities and hire more competitive individuals.
Hire employees from diverse backgrounds, not just Texas A&M.
