I worked at Breckenridge Ski Resort part-time for more than 6 years

      Pros

      - the joy of teaching and seeing clients grow in their skills - fun coworkers

      Cons

      - low pay - inconsistent tips - physically hard labor - requirement to pay for annual certification renewal fee (if you want to teach the higher levels) - hell, even Walmart's hourly pay us better...

I worked at Breckenridge Ski Resort full-time

      Pros

Decent pay Good benefits Fun place to live

      Cons

This resort has some true management issues from the top down. Vail is going totally Corporate which I can understand, but it's a problem when you start eliminating position after position with a lack of care or compassion for employees that have given a lot of their time, energy, and efforts to this company. There is no accountability at this resort for upper management as they continue to do whatever they want as they...

      Advice to Management

Corporate really needs to look into upper management at this resort and start investigating why there is so much turn over in departments. A lot of employees feel that they are not heard and that nobody in management even cares about their concerns or well being. It's easier to leave than to keep hope that things will change as the wrong people keep getting promoted with lack of knowledge and tools to do their job well.
