I have been working at Brenau University full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good life/work balance so you can have family time and a successful career without sacrificing one for the other.
    Great benefits
    Great people

    Cons

Lack of communication or trickle down from upper management to the people who are responsible for making the vision a reality.

    Advice to Management

Promote and increase salaries when possible to assure loyalty and boost morale. Give credit where credit is due. Many middle and lower level manager make the executive's jobs much easier while executives tend to reap the majority of the monetary benefits.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Brenau University part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

small cohort classes meets once per week for 4 hours and 5 weeks. Enjoyed the staff and students. Good overall working environment.

    Cons

Classes are sporadic. No logic to scheduling. Needs better scheduling system.

    Advice to Management

Long hourly blocks in the PM makes it hard for some students to stay focused. Should consider 2 hour blocks 2 nights a week.

I have been working at Brenau University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good health insurance benefits. Working with a university gives you many paid holidays. Relaxed office environment.

    Cons

Very, very stingy with pay. Only one opportunity for pay raises is the annual raise and that is often the first budget cut made. Numerous responsibilities are added onto your plate (as a cost-saving measure so they don't have to hire for openings) without any additional compensation. End up doing the work of multiple positions with the same pay you started out with.

    Advice to Management

Pay employees what they are worth, especially when those employees are going above and beyond their position's responsibilities.

    Pros

Wonderful clientele, I do miss them. Most of the staff are agreeable.

    Cons

They do not have both managers sit down and discuss problems when problems arise. Unwilling to go to administration for raises and looked among staff to provide other staffs compensation. No beneifts.

    Advice to Management

The two tier systems are unfair to your hourly staff compared to you faculty.

    Pros

The faculty work as a team. There will always be someone to provide feedback and assistance. The faculty all have great experience both in clinical and in teaching. They all are very willing to share their knowledge and to help with any of your needs.

    Cons

Cannot think of one single con.

    Advice to Management

    Continue with the support

    Pros

I enjoyed being in an educational environment. Turnaround time is great! Everyone is friendly to work with and I was able to gain experience.

    Cons

It was hard to manage classes with work yet this was unrelated to the work environment. As a teacher's assistant, I did not experience anything negative during my time here.

    Advice to Management

Always good to take care of employees!
