    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Brereton Architects (More than a year)

    Pros

    Standards and onboarding are strong.
    Completed work is beautiful.
Work-life balance is truly respected here.
    Teamwork is great.
If you are good at moving yourself up in your role and like bite-sized responsibility as you are developing yourself, you'll love it here!

    Cons

They do not review you on a regular period and adjust your pay and position accordingly. Many long term people have left, presumably, because they won't hear/listen/review/accommodate people who are growing in their field. Therefore, the strong leaders are gone.

    Advice to Management

They are going through a transitional period since the founder has retired, and the rest of the company can feel it. The remaining principals don't jive and more busy putting out fires than focusing on their employee's professional development.

I worked at Brereton Architects full-time

    Pros

    Work-Life balance is truly valued.
    Nice people to work with.
    Great benefits.

    Cons

Internal problems with principals and senior management though discreet, are evident as they tend to affect the working environment as a whole. Appreciation for all employees is at an all-time low as the firm continues to take on more than it can handle, keeping most projects understaffed, and not giving credit where credit is due. Though the firm continues to hire more employees to supplement for the large projects, they fail to provide promotional consideration to those highly qualified within the firm. For example, juniors capable of a promotion are overlooked for a new person instead. In turn, most prominent work is given to those with no prior knowledge of the firm's standards and thus hurting the quality of work in general with the lack of training.
Little to no action is implemented to correcting the concerns of employees - all talk, no action.

    Advice to Management

Hire more lower level employees and provide opportunities to those currently employed before hiring their positions to less qualified candidates. Not only listen to employees' concerns, but take action.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Brereton Architects full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Absolutely no pros at all to work in this company. Very disorganized and inefficient management.

    Cons

Management to learn proper review techniques from other companies. Sad to say it's so inefficient.

    Advice to Management

Stop listening to one sided feedback and follow proper review technique and train the resources accordingly.

The office is growing with limited space.
