I have been working at Briggs & Stratton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

401k is matched fully for first 6% then 4% on the next 7%. HSA is good and on-site health clinic is very convenient and affordable. Dental is also good, standard 2 cleanings per year are free.

    Cons

The production management system slows work down and is the biggest bottleneck.

    Pros

I have the opportunity to work in the engine group sales organization. Very interactive, open door policy from our VP, clear expectations, held accountable but not micro managed.

    Cons

Run by accounting practices and our world is not always just black or white. Need to understand our place in the market.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the numbers and remember people are your best asset

I worked at Briggs & Stratton full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Awesome people with a willingness to listen to new ideas. Always looking for the next idea no matter where it comes from.

    Cons

Some decisions are made purely on dollars and cents instead of the impact to community and the people that work there.

    Advice to Management

Plan for the long haul and grow organically. Moving to the next cheaper place won't sustain you.

    Pros

Get to work independently in a position that changes often. This is great for someone like me who gets bored easily.

    Cons

None to mention aside from health insurance deductible, but I think that applies to most companies everywhere right now.
