I have been working at BrightTALK full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

BrightTALK is a family. With family you get your ups and downs, your laughs and your cries, but at the end of the day, you have colleagues who genuinely care about you. A BrightTALKer is intellectual, collaborative, and driven -- everyone here pushes themselves because we know that the value we bring to marketers' is one of a kind. The product development team has kicked it into high gear this year, and our product is...

    Cons

Change can be exciting, but it's not for everyone. While we're an established company, we're small enough to be able to bob and weave and evolve as the marketplace does. That means that your today may be different than your yesterday. This is not the place for people who want a consistent 9-5 job where you clock-in, clock-out. You'll be expected to stretch yourself and get out of your comfort zone. Sometimes that means...

    Advice to Management

Invest in some cool BrightTALK-branded outerwear! We're in a congested city and making sweatshirts or fleeces with our logo is amazing brand exposure -- would help build our audience base as almost everyone you pass in downtown SF is a b2b professional. Leverage your employees as brand ambassadors. Also, i can actually feel positive change - please keep it up! Yes, there's been turnover for good and poor reasons, but...

    Pros

Awesome offering. Not only tech but an amazing lead gen ability via the community that keeps growing. Investment in young talent and developing careers has become a top priority. International company with opportunity to work with both sides of the globe. Process, Structure and overall vision improving every day

    Cons

Big challenge ahead and moving fast. Sometimes things need to be communicated uniformly across company- standard start up troubles of moving fast. Needs some more fun perks, parties etc for bonding.

    Advice to Management

Keep progressing and empowering your young employees. They are the future leaders of BrightTALK and hungry to learn/grow. Exec team needs to be strong & vocal leaders and energize the office. Increase communication across the globe- more is better! Add more fun perks inside/outside office to build relationships that last.

    Pros

    - People are intelligent, ambitious and enthusiastic - Great place to develop interpersonal and professional skills - Young, fun atmosphere

    Cons

    - Employee turnover is incredibly high - Various teams are working on similar, misaligned projects - The company constantly attempts to re-org and re-align - Extreme focus on revenue impedes quality of work - Ego-driven culture from the top down - things are taken personally and people hold grudges - Favoritism creates an air of unhealthy competition - Sarcastic / bitter tones are tolerated (from managers and colleagues...

    Advice to Management

    - Hire more competent, effective leaders - Set challenging but attainable quotas, KPIs and goals for your employees - Focus on / figure out a core competency - Listen to your smartest people - they are not necessarily on top

    I worked at BrightTALK full-time

    Pros

    - One star for the valuable experience working in a startup-like environment. You get the opportunity to work on a wide variety of things that you might not get to at a bigger company - One star for the people. Most are genuine, hardworking and fun coworkers to be around everyday

    Cons

    - Opportunities for growth can be hard to come by if you don't work on certain teams - Upper management seems to be either clueless about many of the broken company processes and "culture" problems, or doesn't care about fixing them - Disconnect between teams is very frustrating and can negatively impact your personal work - Ditto to other reviews about the extremely high turnover, uncompetetive salary and zero...

I have been working at BrightTALK full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

BrightTALK has the following: Good salary, opportunities to learn and get promoted, good work environment, smart people, experienced senior level leadership, managers that respect loyalty, snacks (if you care), finances are well managed, and a results based environment. I can't imagine this place being the first company I worked at right out of college. It would have spoiled me. I've worked in several employment settings...

Some of the challenges: office can be pretty noisy, working with others that are not open to a quickly changing/evolving environment, no one is going to hold your hand, no standardized on-boarding process, underperformers can be distracting, communication with the UK team can be challenging The cons here are actually pretty minimal. You are going to have to work hard and learn a ton to be good at this job. Depending...

    Advice to Management

-Take feedback about the product from the Sales Team seriously. Our customers tell us things that could help increase our client base. -Buy some jackets, t-shirts, hoodies, or something else for the team to wear. We are proud of where we work and it would be good exposure for the company. -Break down barriers between departments and minimize the "decision by committee" process on sales deals. Our team needs to be able...

I have been working at BrightTALK full-time for more than a year

    Pros

BrightTALK is not perfect - nothing is. It's a pleasure to work hard here. I am constantly being challenged to learn by management. I have mentors (very important to me). The product is interesting to me and I like the people I work with.

    Cons

Expect to be frustrated sometimes. It's worth it.
