I have been working at Brightcove full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Brightcove’s Boston office has a positive & collaborative working environment. I’m surrounded by engaged employees and I’m excited to come to work each day. I also appreciate that projects move at a fast pace here; you won’t find a lot of red tape or hurdles to get ideas implemented. Most refreshing for me personally - marketing leadership allows and encourages taking ownership of your work. Oh and great... benefits - including bagel Friday's :)

I have been working at Brightcove full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people who have been working at Brightcove for over 1-2 years are great people. Smart, nice and get things done. Some pros include a stocked kitchen with snacks and cold brew, unlimited vacation (but not entirely sure if that's still implemented based on some rumors regarding vacation), and a rising stock price. The office is located in a great spot overlooking the Boston Tea Party and close to South Station... for easy commuting.

    Cons

The new leadership who recently came in brought in all of their "friends" from the same company and have created a very caddy, unproductive, and negative environment. One that many Brightcovers are struggling with. I have seen at least 10 people a month quit - all who have made great impact at the company in the past. People are treated unfairly. The marketing team and account management in particular have seen... tremendous turnover. These people who are leaving were the faces of Brightcove, created the foundation of relationships between some large, successful customers, and helped improve the Brightcove products. I wish I had better things to say about Brightcove, and I truly hope that it changes for the better soon, but I have high doubts that is the case.

    Advice to Management

Stop bringing in your friends in high levels - stop treating your employees unfairly - stop the caddy behavior and the lies. People in the industry talk and the reputation has been severely hindered.

I have been working at Brightcove for more than a year

    Pros

I love working at Brightcove for a number of reasons. First and foremost, the people and the culture of the company. Almost everyone I have the good fortune to work with are kind, smart, and driven people. This keeps our world exciting and educational - there hasn't been a day in my 2+ year tenure where I've been looking at the clock waiting for 5pm to arrive. We're also one of the most understanding and supportive... cultures I've seen, especially when it comes to work life balance. I also love that everyone is willing to take on anything that needs to get done. There is no culture of feeling like the work is above/below your pay grade which reinforces a team mentality. We all know there is a lot that can be done, which creates an exciting atmosphere with opportunity for growth, learning and development aplenty. Also, you can feel that we're at the brink of something even better... our industry is already imploding, and only going to become more in demand. What we do will be integrated into almost every individuals's daily life, and we're the leaders of the industry... how cool is that!?

    Cons

We are working at warp speed, so sometimes things aren't done with as much process, time, and/or direction as might be ideal. However, we're given the freedom to try, make mistakes and redirect course, so it's okay. There is also opportunity for departments to better integrate/collaborate/communicate. But, it seems like something leadership is aware of and trying to work through.

    I worked at Brightcove full-time

    Pros

Cultura empresarial y personas estupendas.

    Advice to Management
