    Pros

Can not think of any at the moment

    Cons

Long hours. Often not having sufficient employees on hand to cover the workload. Forget having any sort of personal life. Hope you still have other options for health insurance because what they have is too expensive.

    Advice to Management

Pull your heads out of the clouds and listen to your employees.

I worked at Brink's, Incorporated full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some of the highest caliber people I have worked with on the truck crews. Great for keeping you away from home if that is what you want.

    Cons

Limited career path without nepotism. Favoritism is rampant, and management can make your job miserable easily. Most trucks are so old and haphazardly maintained that crews often fight over their route taking the one or two nice ones (where everything works) Scheduling is so tight that often the longer runs only give you 8 hours between shifts even if you work 6 days a week. Turnover and employee burnout makes load harder as time passes.

    Advice to Management

Stop and listen to your ground level employees. If the only thing you pay attention to are your bottom line and margin reports, you will miss serious issues with the employee and supervisory dynamic that will have your veteran and most dedicated employees leave. As it is now, you are extracting the energy from your staff, and it can't last forever.

    Pros

Wage employees work very hard under sometimes trying circumstances. The benefits are ok for them but drivers/messengers are limited to 4 hours a week overtime. The most important person in your life as a messenger is your driver, and vice versa. As for supervision, the most important person is your route logistics supervisor and the branch manager. If you interview in person, assess for your self of the branch facility and the vehicles.

    Cons

I was in a upper level position. I had some very good years with the company but things have changed. There is more pressure for the wage employees to produce more with less time and to complete routes quicker than before.

    Advice to Management

The branch manager is the most important leader in the company. They can make or break how each branch is running in terms of turnover, training, spirit of the employees, especially the truck crews. They make sure everyone stays safe and the vehicles are fully operational. It's a tough job and you can tell the good leaders from the not so good leaders.

    Guaranteed 40 hrs a week
Time and a half after 40hrs
The people make the job better
Working in the office is better than working on the truck

    Cons

Certain managers don't know how to do their jobs

I worked at Brink's, Incorporated full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The ability to advance and gain knowledge in many different areas while working for the company. The salaries were comparable to other companies.

    Cons

The company was not the best at providing a work/life balance for some positions. They have very long work days.

    Advice to Management

The biggest issue is everyone needs a work/life balance to be able to do the best job possible. I would also recommend a reward system or incentive programs for all that are employed.

I have been working at Brink's, Incorporated full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Brinks has been in business since 1864, Providing safety for its customers and assurance for they're assets. At one time they did not have much competition and was well sought after by it's customer's and potential customers.

    Cons

I have been with Brink's for six year's now. Recently they have made change's sub contracting the automotive work to an individual company doing away with regular employee's and leaving at least one with no supervisor to over see them at night while fueling truck's ect., resulting in missed meeting's and benefit loss.

    Advice to Management

Appoint someone to over see these issue's or hire more office staff as it has been down sized putting an extreme burden on the Human Resource Rep.

    Pros

hard working and caring employees. decent benefits. fun to be out on your route. management team that is doing the best they can. chance for growth if wanted.

    Cons

very disorganized. bad systems or system management. poor leadership direction and decisions from the top. poor pay. any good management that is doing good or trying either gets fired or quits. new manager who was the best manager we had in years was just fired.

    Advice to Management

top management needs to understand what we do and work with on a daily basis. recognize and reward the local management that is doing a good job, and let go those that have been failing for years. increase wage for us in the streets and in the building
