    Pros

Great money when you work on the busy nights. Most of your managers are awesome.

    Cons

Management at the time was not very helpful

    Advice to Management

I worked at Brinker part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

great $$ if you are a good server....

    Cons

If you have a less-than-stellar GM, you won't get any support from corporate if the store is making $$. Basically, if GM is making the $$, they can treat you any way they want........

    Advice to Management

listen to your employees when they go as far as contacting corp.....we don't just run to you for the heck of it

I worked at Brinker full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

When they say your like family they mean it. I've never become so close to so many folks in my life. At first they were stand offish (like many restaurants) but eventually they embraced me with open arms. Through my good moods and bad. They would let me vent and be okay with it. I genuinely felt like I was part of a chaotic hot mess of a family.

    Cons

Unequal pay, counterparts were (proven) to make more per hour yet have less experience and knowledge. Some employees busted they're rear end while others weren't expected to do anything. Watching how management treated the veteran cooks/chefs made me not want to pursue a career with this company.

    Advice to Management

Have all management set a guideline and follow it. Don't play favorites and stick to it. Remember that this is not just your life it's everyone's life. Don't treat employees like garbage until they prove to be awful employees. Pay every one according to their experience and knowledge and not base it on "the good 'ol boys" technique. That means just because you like a smooth talker doesn't mean that they should get paid better.

I have been working at Brinker full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Wonderful people to work with and the support system to help you integrate into the corporate culture as a new employee. I have been able to adjust to new working environment in less than 45 days

    Cons

It is a bit difficult to get approval for new innovation and idea. I would suggest having the Innovation department to be independent of the R&D department

I worked at Brinker (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Hardest working people ive ever worked with
really dedicated to the each other because they all love the company
Kelly Valade is an amazing egg

    Cons

too much focus on HR fluff is pullin attention away from operations
rules are set and then re-set and then set again,,, no consistency

    Advice to Management

High deductible plans suck for everyone that has health problems how about something else these plans only work in daallas, what about the other chili's cities?

Shedules suck too. My wife works for a 24/7 utilities plant and she can plan her schedule better than mine.

    I worked at Brinker full-time

    Pros

Benefits were ok at the time in 2011. Coworkers were great, management was not capable of their duties--didn't seem to work well with employees and valued customers over employee well-being and safety.

    Cons

Downsides: management did not back up employees, never enough food to fulfill customer's orders, coworkers were great but you always have bad apples

    Advice to Management

Do not participate in favortism among employees, some advancements given to those that were favored among the managers, not many opportunities for advancement

    Pros

The people are some of the best, like a family. Great environment, big emphasis on work life balance.

    Cons

Insurance benefits are not good, very expensive and high deductible
Leadership in certain departments no longer reflect the longtime company culture introduced by fabulous leaders in the past.

    Advice to Management

    Get back to the basics

    Pros

Fast paced, lots of tools for initiatives that are implemented. Competitive pay. FOH staff are very closely knit. Lots of data available for day to day operations

    Cons

Menu constantly changes, new food additions and deletions made every three months. Wish they had separate front-of-house and back-of-house managers.

    Advice to Management
