I have been working at Brintons Carpets full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Designers work in a studio at the office in Kennesaw and have the opportunity to work from home a few days a week after the first year or so. It's great working in the same space as the other designers because we constantly share texture layers, advice and feedback. We also have the opportunity to go downtown ATL and meet with clients in person. The work environment is casual and you can wear jeans to work. The key to success at Brintons is to be kind, helpful and customer service. Make the client happy and the design will be a success. The best part about being a designer for Brintons is working with Nadia, the design director and the entire design team. If your work load is too heavy Nadia will find a designer to help you out. All of the designers are friendly and easy to work with.
Also, we brew Starbucks coffee in the break room throughout the day.

    Cons

Some projects can take over a year to complete. The carpet in the office is out of date but Johnny, the operations manger is planning on updating the carpet soon.

I have been working at Brintons Carpets full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice, casual work environment, flexible schedule, decent benefits and paid time off. Some nice co-workers, good office location.

    Cons

Absolutely no advancement opportunities. No appreciation for ambition. No goals or objectives are set for employees. Low pay. Quite a discrepancy between designer/sales salaries and corporate sales support. Inexperienced management.

    Advice to Management

    Take some management courses

    Pros

Coworkers, healthcare benefits, Flexible working hours, location in office park is about 5 min to interstate, restaurants, and shopping areas, 401K match, vacation time, holidays observed, diverse work force,

    Cons

No raises or bonuses in 5 years, No training for corporate office support staff, Actually owned by private equity firm Carlyle, 3 rounds of layoffs since Carlyle takeover,Constant battle between Brintons USA & Brintons UK, High turnover

    Advice to Management

KPIs for corporate support staff, limit favoritism, Review for raises as cost of living continues to rise but salaries remain the same which is causing many employees to take on second jobs or leave entirely.

    Pros

    Work in Shifts
    Prime location
    good connectivity

    Cons

There is whole list of cons.
    1) The selection process is too long. For me it was 8 months.
    2) It will take lifetime to get the results. It is as if you are into some research and even you are not sure that you will get the lifetime achievement award or not.
    3) The HR will not clear anything about the selection. You will be called for interview multiple times(4 times in 8 months and I live in another state) saying it's the final round. And when you try to contact them they will ignore and treat you like nothing. They will not receive calls or reply to mails.
    4) Very less growth and no opportunities.
    5) Advice - Don't spend your time and money trying to get into this company. Brintons India is very unprofessional. I hope the CEO gets attention and takes appropriate action.

    Advice to Management

Please see into the selection process of the employee. Don't treat people as if they are nothing. People work hard for their living. Be responsive and don't harass them by calling multiple times for interview and keep them waiting.

I have been working at Brintons Carpets full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Well established
    Very old company

    Cons

Pathetic in terms of selection procedure.
They will call you multiple (4 times in 7 months in my case) times with promise to refund your travel expenses. But it will take ages for selection results to be out. Don't know whether they are selecting a carpet company employee or a NASA scientist. And the behavior of HR will be rude if you ask about the results.

    Advice to Management

Don't play with the emotions of needy people. No selection process takes more then a week. Don't give people hope and keep them waiting. Say 'Yes' or 'No'.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Brintons Carpets full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great shopfloor people in my time.Still are but their views are normally dismissed by an incompetent and ignorant management.

    Cons

The true worth of people is far too often ignored. Thinking is far too short term - make people redundant and hire them back within weeks having found that it is not possible to manage without them.

    Advice to Management

Be open and honest with your workforce and remember that they normally know far more than you do about making carpet!
