I worked at Brio Bravo Restaurant Group part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very busy location in Eastwood Mall, great co-workers and teamwork environment. Not unusual for experienced servers to walk out with $200 a night.

    Cons

Corporate reduced serving sections. Enough said.

    Advice to Management

Don't screw over your servers, they are the face of the restaurant.

    Cons

Uniform is out of date and management is poor and watered down. Look at the stock it is low!

    Advice to Management

Executive management is clueless! Becoming too big of chain.

I worked at Brio Bravo Restaurant Group part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The money is good because of the clientele Bravo attracts. Management was always understanding when there were things going on in their employees lives. The food is very good and fresh Which builds regulars and keeps guests happy.

    Cons

Our store struggled with a divided feeling between back of house and front of house staff causing unnecessary delays that falls back on guests. Management was also a little rough around the edges at times. Ultimately, after getting to know them, I can appreciate that feeling being a high standard for excellence.

    Advice to Management

New employees frequently asked servers to help them with mistakes and multiple times I saw servers choose to pay out of pocket for simple errors that any new person could make in order to avoid asking management. They are unapproachable about silly things. A little HR training should be implemented, in my experience.

I have been working at Brio Bravo Restaurant Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get a free meal each shift, the managers are really nice, when my grandma died they donated pasta for the funeral.

    Cons

You work the worst hours, which being in a restaurant as a cook isn't new. Everyone in the back of house is Latino which is fine except I was white and it was pretty lonely not being able to connect. Training was very hit or miss on your own type of deal. And the men were typically paid at least $1 more than women. I was there 2 years and continuously asking for more money because I was the only cook that could run my station and I did it on my own every Friday and Saturday night while all the other stations had two cooks. Guys that did less work than I did and started a year and a half after me made more than I did. The managers were constantly reassuring me I had a big raise coming but after 3 months nothing. There wasn't a sense of team work or love for the food. And no matter how much I asked for another grill cook to be trained so I could move up into management or learn another station they never did.

    Advice to Management

Make your cooks feel appreciated, especially f they are one of your core members.
