I worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Great professional environment with a lot of folks who inspire you to learn & do more. Maybe I was lucky again but I was surrounded by really supportive directors who mentored me into continued success. The diversity and business model is the best in class.

    Cons

I seriously can't think of any. I guess the cafeteria could be a little better and the parking lot is a far walk on those extreme weather days. That I no longer work there is the con.

    Advice to Management

Whatever you're doing, don't stop. And hopefully I'll be back.

I have been working at Bristol-Myers Squibb full-time

    Pros

    May be they pay OK

    Cons

The senior management at this company has no clue how to run the company. Every couple of years they hire new VPs and they all come with their own agendas. there always rumors of restructuring. People are more interested in politics and not science. Managers are never interested in the career development of individuals in their teams. Lot of spineless leaders at middle and upper management. The company is constantly changing its focus. Its a very top down company. If someone has a job, they should not consider BMS as a company for career growth.

    Advice to Management

Focus on drug development and development of your employees. Those are the 2 important assets you have. learn to learn from your mistakes. Stop depending on consulting companies to better your organization.

    Pros

Great job if you are looking to show up, do your job, get paid, go home. Very un-intrusive into life.

    Cons

Down time at work can lead to boredom. While there seems to be upward movement opportunities thus salary is limited.

    Advice to Management

Offer movement opportunities to all in the organization not the handpicked few.

    Advice to Management
