    Pros

Employees are smart and honorable and sincere about what they do. Great salary and retirement savings. Medical plan etc. are excellent.

    Cons

In the drug industry overall there are patent loses or drugs that don't get approved which sometimes means job cuts.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that you develop and promote dedicated employees.

    Pros

Solid management and dynamic work environment.

    Cons

With the changing health care environment, BMS' commitment to employees has been on the decline over the past few years.

    Advice to Management

The employees are very hard working, don't be afraid to reward them a bit more than you are currently.

I worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company has great benefits and if you are ok to go with the status quo in a very mundane environment then give it a go.

    Cons

Disjointed and erratic work environment. Given objectives and mandates with no budget or support to meet these requests. A whole lot of fancy dancing and finger pointing to shift blame for poor sales and P&L concerns. They had an easy ride with great drugs and are now trying to be "No 1 in Diabetes with two lame oral products for Type II Diabetes; just a bit unrealistic and arrogant.

    Advice to Management

Get s grip on reality, make solid and clear decision and reward those who work and move the rest along. there is no slack to support groups of people sitting around doing nothing but waiting for their product line to require work. Multiple product accountability for what you have in line is a great money saving opportunity for you and you are missing it. Be careful who's toes you step on it will come back to bite you.

  6. "A solid opportunity for career growth and a skill building job"

    Pros

The people across the organization are top notch talent and are very collaborative.
    Marketing Training is gold standard
Products extend and enhance human life
It is possible to build a career in the opportunities at BMY

    Cons

Location in Central, NJ is less than ideal, but could be worse.
Downsizing rather regularly these days, but who isn't?
    Bureaucracy is still very prevalent.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work in executing against strategy. A plan that has been in action for several years is coming to fruition. The management team in place continues to make the tough decisions to make BMY successful and sustainable. Kudos.
