    Pros

    Flights offshore with personnel/material

    Cons

Great company with excellent pilots and no downside

    Advice to Management

Last employment was 2009 but employment status would not allow me to go back further.

I worked at Bristow Group Inc full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible with schedules. Full time benefits (good PTO, health, 401k). Staff members typically work together and help each other out when needed.

    Cons

Company has downsized. No pay raises over the past several years and none are in sight. Limited opportunity for advancement. Direct reports are paid well below the industry average. Leadership is lacking in many areas and no one seems to care.

    Advice to Management

Keep your employees informed. Zero transparency causes conflict, tension and ultimately the departure of good employees.

    Pros

Great people to work with who put the company first, loyalty
    Good Benefits
    Good work schedule
    Global communications within employees

    Cons

    Management
    No direction for the future
Lack of opportunity for future growth and development
    Little to no diversification
    Low morale

    Advice to Management

Be forthcoming with your employees, give some direction on where the company currently is and where the company is going. Operations is almost too lean while corporate finance is too fat. Go back to what made the company great years ago, and stop focusing projects that won't benefit the company.

I have been working at Bristow Group Inc full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great place for entry level experience. Good benefits and team environment.

    Cons

Below market salary in combination with salary freezes going on for 5 years now. No room for advancement as all new positions are hired externally. All new projects and support are outsourced. You will not grow outside of your hired position. No training or development of employees. Structure is top heavy with an over bloat of IT directors and managers in Corporate.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the growth and development of employees. Promote from within and follow through on training and certifications. Top level management can be consolidated and overall structure improved. Look outside of former Baker Hughes coworkers when hiring new positions in IT.

    Pros

The people are some of the best around. Lots of people who are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done and manage all the aircraft safely.

    Cons

Management Decisions and Current Market Decisions in Oil and Gas have made this a real powder keg of uncertainty over the last several years.

    Advice to Management

Talk to the people actually doing the work.

I have been working at Bristow Group Inc full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Approachable and sharp executive team, fully implemented SAP.

    Cons

Be prepared to be attacked at work and set up to fail. Yes, attacked at work. Virtually no HR ... none. Beware of no HR.

Tons of mistakes in data?? I blame lazy managers. However, If 10 years later the errors keep coming then let the employee go. They will not somehow magically become good at their job. Bad employees make good employees feel bad. They "train" them to fail. Their lazy managers leave much of the work up to contractors. They are relying on others for the details. Some of these managers even have second jobs, third jobs and not much interested in administration or organisation, developing long-term planning or detailed policies. They instead preferre to talk about visions and give vague/verbal orders, leaving the details and specifics out. They sabotage "new talent" to make themselves look good.... they suck money out of the BG. These managers make decisions as they see fit, most of the time on a whim and without consulting relevant departments. They have no clear processes or policies formulated. They suck money out of shareholder pockets these "cousins" or old friends of management team ... this department nothing but a patchwork of last minute short-term conflicting decisions. In desperate need of new HR.

    Advice to Management

Look at the facts. Beware of collusion and flourishing nepotism. Hire new HR with an Actual HR experience. URGENTLY identify managers and their employees who are fundamentally disorganised, inevitably shambolic and like to appear quite complex. This department has no method or any long-term planning involved in their decision making. This department has a very high turn over of new talent and one long term incompetent, dishonest employee, who competes for managers favor and brings performance of good employees, integrity of data and morals down. Beaware of Collusion thriving on self interest of managers, contractors and lazy/bitter employees.

    Pros

Good helicopter experience for starting out

    Cons

Poor promotion rate, pay freeze and poor moral

    Advice to Management

Maybe focuse on contracts that can boost pay and moral instead of telling the location to look at the "bigger picture".
