I have been working at Bristow Group Inc full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great safety culture, "do the right thing" as a core value.
Good benefits and market level salaries. Industry leader on market share, with lots of mobility opportunity.

    Cons

Lack of leadership and accountability. When aligned with top management, good opportunities will open, otherwise chances are high to not progress on the company or be let go.
Currently eroding company culture and values.

    Advice to Management

Meritocracy above all, with a commitment to results, supporting and fomenting accountability!

    Pros

Good starting pay. A lot of young managers with great energy and positive attitude.

    Cons

From the surface, the company looks like they have good benefits but it is not the best in the industry. The execs are overpaid and some of the directors are not even qualified for the positions they are hired for. There is no room for growth despite of the leadership/ development programs. Even the selection for the programs are based on favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Start to think as a company instead of your single business unit.

I have been working at Bristow Group Inc full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Field employees are motivated to get the job done efficiently and safely. Field employees help each other out and are generally very competent and professional. Good salary and benefits package. Good equipment and generally good working and living conditions. CEO has his head in the right place.

    Cons

Living conditions at some bases are deplorable. New Iberia HQ manages as if the GOM field bases are a burden and an embarrassment to them. New Iberia generally serves as a holding tank for incompetent managers and their cousins who "kind of" want to work 9 to 5. In short, the company HQs is overstaffed and overfed and operates as if the field bases are there to support THEM.

    Advice to Management

Continue to weed out duds in New Iberia. Ask to stay overnight in the New Horizons trailer park and Patterson base apartments. Tell NABU managers to push back from their desks and get out into the field.

    Pros

If you know what you are doing, then working as an avionics tech is almost like stealing money. The job is beyond easy for what we get paid.

    Cons

The only real con to this job in Bristow is that there is ABSOLUTELY no room for advancement as an avionics tech. You will have to wait at least ten years for someone to retire or die to move up.

    Advice to Management

A lot of people seem to think Bristow management has been making a lot of bad decisions lately, but I believe that they are on the right track. Management has been able to avoid layoffs even during the recent oil slump.

    Pros

    Great work schedule, 7&7
Co-workers in the field are very hard workers and slackers are usually held accountable.
The harder your field team works the shorter you workday will be.

    Cons

Absolutely no area for advancement for avionics.
    Boring/easy work if in hangar.
Hangar is full of people that like to spread rumors more than they like to work.

    Advice to Management

Senior management seems to be making the right decisions. Air Logistics has avoided layoffs by making several changes lately. I say keep up the good work. a a a a
