Customer Experience Agent
May 2, 2023 - Customer Experience Agent in Newark, NJRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Travel benefits aren't as great as US carriers but a lot more affordable than regular full-fare tickets. Offers pretty good medical benefits but subpar dental and vision benefits. Good company to begin your airline career in, but due to the company's declining standards and often time toxic workplace environment, it would be beneficial to transition to an airline with more opportunities for upward mobility.
Cons
Continual company cutbacks have drastically reduced the quality of new-hire training. New agents are often left feeling lost during their first 4-6 months. Unless colleagues with more experience step in to help/mentor, new hires will have to learn how to use Workbrain, request time off, union rules, and other fundamental functions to the daily operation on their own. Working for an airline is no longer as glamorous as it once was. British Airways is no exception as has become one of the least competitive airlines at EWR in terms of pay scales.

Awful treatment of staff during Covid 19
May 30, 2023 - Airline PilotRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Staff travel entitlement. That's about it.
Cons
Awful treatment of staff by managers during covid 19. Mass layoffs instead off accepting government furlough assistance. No support for those laid off. Employees then brought back on far worse Ts and Cs, and back at the bottom while retained employees took more coveted positions. Fire and rehire using C19 as an excuse.
