    Pros

    The initial training is great.

    Cons

    The job is soul sucking. The managers are unsupportive. You'll work compressed hours and overtime is expected and unpaid.

    I worked at British Gas for more than 10 years

    Pros

    None. It's an awful place to work.

    Cons

    Team managers bully and some staff love to humiliate the more reserved staff. Sales and wrap targets unachievable. Constantly threatened with losing job. Nearly all the management are women and hardly any men.

    Advice to Management

    Up your game and it's not big or clever to bully and threaten. It's actual inappropriate and threatening behaviour, which can be reported to the appropriate authorities.

    Depressing job Awful management No progression No work life balance Most employees with go off with stress/depression at least once

    Met some great people over the years.

    Cons

    No chance of career progression. Who you know not what you know. Nobody listens to anybody.literally impossible to get your holidays unless you book a year in advance.

    Great benefits, good wages for the job in hand, good support offered.

    Cons

    Really hard to get a shift that suits you, some are really anti social, many system issues which can result in a negative impact on your performance which you then have to justify.

    Fix the systems so you're able to serve your customers efficiently.

    I worked at British Gas full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    When (not if) you end up suffering from extreme stress, staff could routinely take extended periods of time off work.

    Cons

    Extremely stressful and repetitive. Every minute is monitored. Customers are furious and CSAs have no power to offer resolutions.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your staff like humans not robots.
