    No promotion ops, rigid finish times, people’s privacy not always maintained, and certain people get away with doing nothing!

    Free fruit Free tea/coffee Finish time

    Cons

    Micro managed to death. You need to account for everything you do & every min of the day so much so you feel someone will come in there & say you taking long. Very short staffed, they drain every morsel from you to try & cover the shortages. Avoid it's not good for your mental health.

    They have a good sickness leave and maternity policy

    Cons

    Used to be a great place to work, but over the years it has gotten worse and worse. Job cuts, bonus cuts and poor senior management who are willing to take bonus’s even when the company isn’t doing well.

    I have been working at British Gas full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Pay not bad but now that’s starting to change.

    Cons

    Terrible shifts, long hours, bullying and intimidating strategies used to perform, micro-managed, pushed to the point of exhaustion, treat you like your dispensable, no voice, no opinions allowed, floor commanders on site (military based operation), systems not fit for purpose, systems crash daily, smart metering technology not fit for purpose, CEO driving company into the ground, pretend to care about mental health but pile on even more pressure. Customer service completely moved offshore, second class service for customers, company has no money “apparently.” CEO loves to reward himself generously. Continuous fights over pay rises and contract changes. No work/life balance. Expect to go home mentally drained and exhausted. This company will give you a mental health condition.
