  • You can't blame their culture for having so few paid staff, therefore raising so much more for important research (in 10 reviews)

  • Staff and volunteers are not always respected, I always treated my volunteers with upmost respect, small tokens of thanks goes an awful long way (in 4 reviews)

    Pros

    The organisation is constantly looking to improve it's performance and try new ventures.

    There is freedom to go about your job in the way that you think is best for the charity.

    Cons

    Little training on offer
    Very London focused, would have I love to London Head Office (GLH) to progress.

    Pros

    Nice people, good benefits, good experience. The best overall, i can say it's recommended for getting a start for work.

    Cons

    There are not many cons with working here i believe, the overall of been here has been good except for a few other little issues.

    job satisfaction. working as part of a team. gaining new skills. meeting and communicating with new friends

    Cons

    not understanding during recovery period from blood clot

    Advice to Management

    keep to a rota. ensure all volunteers can cover for others in different departments by encouraging if possible to learn various skills in store.be flexible when on half day college course

    Pros

    A lovely place to work. Volunteers, staff and customers make my day.

    Cons

    Voluntary position. You can't blame their culture for having so few paid staff, therefore raising so much more for important research.

    Advice to Management

    Great Manager. Good advice, sound reasoning, can't get better than that. A very likeable and respected person as far as I am concerned.

    you are good to work for ,The Management are fair but should offer job opertunites after 3 years volunteering service.

    Great people to work with but no career opertunities

    give volunteers the chance a job after being there after 4 years service

    Enjoyed it whislt I did it
    Help others and help each other
    work as a team and communicate well
    Gave me work experience

    Cold at times
    Gets stressful regards assisting the clients
    Moving and handling can be hard work some days

    Very interactive with customers, help customers when needed, serve customers at till and have cash handling and do card payments.

    Cons

    Having to sort out donations when they came in by customers

    Valuable work experience. Kept busy. Good management team in place. At least at the one I volunteer at.

    Cons

    Like most voluntary positions, the lack of pay is always a negative.

    Great volunteers but used for terribly
    Good cause but a company who exploits the fact people have died to extract money

    Cons

    Pressure and bullying commonplace
    Very Sad that they are used in such a derogatory way.

    Stop exploiting venerable adults and abusing staff

    I have nothing bad to say as i don't think I can think of any cons that are on the negative side
