I worked at Broad River Retail full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The benefits, bonuses, pay and sense of community between coworkers is fantastic. The training was also extensive. The workplace is typically energetic and fun. I truly loved my coworkers, and the company itself has a lot of positive attributes and seems to value it's employees.

    Cons

Management continuously hires based off of personality rather than skill; this typically led to positive employees with poor work ethic and little skill. Though fun-filled, the management team will have "parties" on the call-center floor with little-to-no disregard for ongoing calls. Opportunities for advancement are there, but only favorites are allowed a chance to move up, often with no disregard for skill level. They state they will not hold an employee back from advancement, however this is only true for certain members of the team. If they find you to be great where you are, they would prefer to hold you hostage in your current position. Sales team members are valued much higher than customer service members.

    Advice to Management

Instead of hiring to fill a certain attitude or the typical "call-center" employee, hire people with diverse backgrounds to allow for different mindsets, skill sets and personalities. Just because someone has call-center experience, doesn't mean they are good at customer service. Sometimes the best gems are found deep in the earth rather than on its crust.

    Pros

Good income if you can get your opportunity with customers.

GMs and Sales Managers poach and cherry pick customers and give each other preferential treatment. Core Value of Integrity is not upheld.

Walk the Walk if you're going to Talk the Talk.

I worked at Broad River Retail full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Compensation plan is decent for commissioned sales people.

    Cons

Little work life balance. GM and Regional Managers are horrible

    Advice to Management

If you take care of your sales team by being more flexible with their schedules- ie- staggering shifts instead of requiring everyone to work bell to bell you would probably have less turnover.

Broad River has placed a major emphasis on culture in the last year, and the result is a lot of very happy long and short term employees.

There is still a lot of work to do to make this a GREAT place to work, but Broad River is up to the challenge.

    Advice to Management

Keep putting people first, and everyone will come out even more successful than they've ever been.
