I worked at Broadcom as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

My internship with Broadcom was great. The company helped me relocate and gave me a stipend for travel costs. The engineers in the Mobile Group were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. There were some fun company-wide events and intern events.

    Cons

They seem to only hire people with graduate degrees, but that is understandable considering the special skills required in most Broadcom jobs.

I have been working at Broadcom full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

After acquisition by Avago, literally nothing except for RSUs and the stock price.

    Cons

Previous company was a heaven to work for. But, post acquisition there have been lot of changes happening in the name of cost cutting. Fear of business units getting sold and layoffs. Visa procedures are in stake. People in mid of green card process are stumbled. H1b filings were messed up and was not done for many. New grads shouldn't opt for this company anymore. Talents are starting to leave the company. No new hires recently. Work culture seems to have changed. Time to leave for a better option.

    Advice to Management

Nothing to advice for current management in the hands of such a CEO.

I worked at Broadcom as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very competitive pay for the position I held. The interview wasn't too bad and the whole hiring process went very smooth. Many of my coworkers were very helpful and the facilities were great.

    Cons

I was hired to work part-time because I was attending college full time and my original understanding was that I wouldn't be asked to work more than 20 hours per week. This changed very quickly as I took on more projects, and eventually I was being asked to work upwards of 30-35 hours per week with complete disregard for my class schedule.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the class schedules of people you hire. It is unfair to ask a student to miss classes for work.

I have been working at Broadcom as an intern

    Pros

The management is great and the my team lead gives me tasks related to front end and back end equally thus giving me an exposure to the full stack web application development. I am part of the internal tool development team at Broadcom. This web application has given me an exposure to work on the following technologies:
Front end: JavaScript, JQuery, HTML and CSS
    Backend: Node.js
    Database: MongoDB
I have worked on the above mentioned technologies in my academic course projects
( Enterprise Distributed Systems) using MEAN stack. But working as an
intern has helped in increasing my understanding to efficiently use these technologies to
improve performance, provide better error handling mechanisms and code in a clear,
    concise and efficient manner.

At Broadcom, I have been given tasks to develop modules relating to both front end and
back end. This has been helpful in providing me with an understanding of the full stack
    web application development.

    Cons

No regrets so far. The pay can be better for interns.

    Advice to Management

    None

    Cons

Bad technical documentations. Always takes too long time to find some information.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing special now.
