I worked at Broadridge (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits are pretty good, and the pay is decent for an entry level position.
    Decent WFH policy.
You can do the bare minimum and achieve great work-life balance, or you can work long hours and people will notice--it's really up to you.
They used to offer tuition reimbursement, and still might. Take advantage of it.
People stay here for a long time, so they seem to be doing something right.
Cafeteria at the time was subsidized, so was very cheap. That may have changed.

    Cons

Management is mediocre and there is little opportunity to advance.
There are a lot of office politics, and the most talented people aren't usually the ones who are rewarded.
    JSQ location is not great.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in the careers of the younger people just starting here--the old timers are going to retire and you're going to be left with a lot of unsatisfied millenials who aren't in love with their jobs.

    Pros

The company has tremendous potential and opportunity its
markets and attempts to embrace progressive work from home and other HR policies. It wants to do the right thing by its employees but doesn't know how.

    Cons

So many, unfortunately - a highly fractured leadership team that thrives on managing in silos and reacting to crises that are self-inflicted, a highly political work environment that rewards tenured people who have no big-company work experience and extreme resistance to process development or investment in infrastructure. And all of this is exacerbated by tremendous growth through acquisition, with no ability to integrate on the back end. Work hours can be arduous at times.

    Advice to Management

Slow down and take a hard look at what's happening to the company; its becoming a tangled mess, which will ultimately destroy it if something doesn't change soon. The organization needs to actively and realistically assess talent, as its top-heavy and wasting valuable dollars on well-paid people who aren't adding any value. Don't let leaders fight each other for control at the expense of the organization.

    Pros

Nice co-workers, casual dress code, office location

    Cons

Upper management does not treat employees very well. They are more concerned about cutting costs to make sure they get their bonuses.
Virtually impossible to get a promotion. They would rather hire people with no experience, so they can pay them less, and let the experienced people go. Everyone is expendable.

I have been working at Broadridge full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Medical center on site, decent benefits, location on Long Island, nice coworkers, large company that is stable and has a good track record of growth. The overall company seems to have a great culture that balances a family feel while still growing bigger. Finance is the sorry exception.

    Cons

ICS finance has been in a downward spiral for the last 2 years. In a 20 person group, more than 10 have left in the last year... yes that's right, half of the people have left. Tone at the top (VP and above) is awful. Favoritism with promotions, hiring people at levels above associates that have been here and are high performers. Workload has been horrendous and management has been incapable of... managing! The workload is unbalanced between people and all work is so manual. They are starting to backfill people that have left, but that doesn't fix the actual issues that are there and that caused people to leave. The new acquisition has made it even worse - they act as if they acquired Broadridge, not vice versa. It's really going downhill. If you had asked me a year ago, i wouldn't thought it would get worse. But somehow it has. Harvard Business School should do a case study on Broadridge finance - on what not to do to retain talent and institutional knowledge.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes and hold management accountable. Finance is losing valuable, talented people due to really bad management decisions.

    Pros

Company is shaping advances in the Fintech space. Rapid growth is creating lots of career opportunities. Supportive, team oriented culture - but still focused on results and achievement.

    Cons

Not a good place if you don't want to work hard or can't deal with lots of change.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and keep investing in new technology.
