I have been working at Broadridge full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice co-workers, casual dress code, office location

    Cons

Upper management does not treat employees very well. They are more concerned about cutting costs to make sure they get their bonuses.
Virtually impossible to get a promotion. They would rather hire people with no experience, so they can pay them less, and let the experienced people go. Everyone is expendable.

    I worked at Broadridge full-time

    Pros

Worked 3+ years at the Toronto office. Limited pros:

    - Fellow associates/team
    - Convenient downtown location
    - Associate-led committees and initiatives
    - Benefits plan

    Cons

Several which largely stem from management and C-suite, and is evidenced by the inability to retain top talent:

    1. Management is not transparent about vision or direction of company, leaving associates worried about job security

    2. A ridiculous amount of outsourcing even for business-critical roles

    3. ZERO opportunity for advancement

    4. Empty promises for promotions that never come

    5. Self-serving middle-management

    6. "Old Boy's Club" culture

    7. HR that creates a feeling they cannot be trusted

    8. Inconsistent support for professional development

    9. Tremendously inadequate accommodation or support of working parents

    10. Very vertical organizational structure that makes it difficult to effect any change

    11. No consequences, but protection, for abusive leadership

    12. Management comprised of "lifers" - employees who were promoted to management simply due to tenure and not leadership abilities

    13. Poorly documented policies and procedures

    14. Leadership is resistant to knowledge share possibly due to own concerns about job security

    Advice to Management

Layoff your entire operational, account management, and client services middle management (Director and VP levels) and rehire while closely scrutinizing for real leadership abilities. Stop promoting associates to leadership positions simply because of their long service, but ensure they have the ability to manage people. Completely overhaul your HR and have them work diligently to earn associates' trust. Be MUCH MORE transparent with reorganization plans and vision so employees can make their own plans for their careers and not question every day if they will have a job tomorrow.

I worked at Broadridge (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits are pretty good, and the pay is decent for an entry level position.
    Decent WFH policy.
You can do the bare minimum and achieve great work-life balance, or you can work long hours and people will notice--it's really up to you.
They used to offer tuition reimbursement, and still might. Take advantage of it.
People stay here for a long time, so they seem to be doing something right.
Cafeteria at the time was subsidized, so was very cheap. That may have changed.

    Cons

Management is mediocre and there is little opportunity to advance.
There are a lot of office politics, and the most talented people aren't usually the ones who are rewarded.
    JSQ location is not great.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in the careers of the younger people just starting here--the old timers are going to retire and you're going to be left with a lot of unsatisfied millenials who aren't in love with their jobs.
