    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Brocade full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Salary and benefits are good. Brocade knows how to make it comfortable for employees through amenities and perks. The campus is great and enjoy the gym.

    Cons

Extremely challenging environment, and now that we have been acquired, it's wildly at a different level. The Sr. VP left and never looked back to the folks that carried and executed so well to his agenda.

    Advice to Management

It won't help seeing that those that cared about middle management left long ago (3 VP's left on the same day about 2 years ago) and the one left to lead was simply using manipulating management techniques to get what he wanted. Now he's gone and it's crystal clear that we drank the cool-aid and now hold the bag.

I have been working at Brocade full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits including volunteer time off and work from home opportunities, above average pay

    Cons

IP business broken up and being divested, CEO turned company from a customer/employee driven company into a typical corporation where it's all about the stakeholders = shareholders, some positions where 24/7 availability is now required, subjective review process

    Advice to Management

Confirm with your employees which BU they are part of and provide clear information on what is happening with the divestiture

    I worked at Brocade full-time

    Pros

    Decent salary. OK benefits.

    Cons

Management is completely disorganized- left hand never seems to know what the right is doing. Unless you have some kind of blackmail on those drawing a paycheck, your job is in jeopardy despite your hard work.

    Advice to Management

Get it together and cut the fat, don't make business decisions based on financial gain and the bottom line. Many good folks are leaving because management plays the old games.

I worked at Brocade full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits for their employees despite the overall lack of company funding.

    Cons

Terrible interview process. Originally offered a good salary, increased it again after I had accepted only to completely turn me down two days later and say that the position no longer exists....

    Advice to Management

Don't leave important employment decisions to those who are C level and take forever to respond.

I worked at Brocade full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly environment to work and have fairly good gym classes free to employees.

    Cons

Managers do not recognize hard work for employees that have been working there for a long time. Focal review is just a formality and no opportunities to move up.

    Advice to Management

The middle managers need to recognize and provide opportunities for employees in the team to move up and not just focus on the same person(s).
