I worked at Brocade full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - There were always areas to try to make things a bit more efficient from a process perspective if it was in your control
    - Marketing Org was a real tight knit family, and the CMO cared/cares about her team
    - Established lifelong relationships beyond Brocade
    - Accomplished much of the marketing vision that was kickstarted 3-4 years ago from the digital spectrum
    - Despite so many changes, the people is what made Brocade great

    Cons

    - Was extremely difficult to learn and branch out from role (if you were really good at something, you had so much work it was difficult to branch out)
    - Big departure in caring about employee well being/happiness when Klayko left (less employee events, tighter budget)
    - Personal feeling was that marketing wasn't valued by higher execs (very engineer centric)
    - Routine driven; change was difficult once a process was set in place

    Advice to Management

None, but the execs that agreed to sell the company out should know that the people and culture is what made Brocade a great place to work - many could've departed a long time ago for more compensation but stayed because of the relationships that were established. That's all but gone now.

I worked at Brocade full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Salary and benefits are good. Brocade knows how to make it comfortable for employees through amenities and perks. The campus is great and enjoy the gym.

    Cons

Extremely challenging environment, and now that we have been acquired, it's wildly at a different level. The Sr. VP left and never looked back to the folks that carried and executed so well to his agenda.

    Advice to Management

It won't help seeing that those that cared about middle management left long ago (3 VP's left on the same day about 2 years ago) and the one left to lead was simply using manipulating management techniques to get what he wanted. Now he's gone and it's crystal clear that we drank the cool-aid and now hold the bag.

I have been working at Brocade full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good Work life balance
    Good people to work with
    Decent pay and benefits

    Cons

    Opportunity to grow is limited.
The way management handled the acquisition with Broadcomm is worse that a company can ever do. It was functioning better as a standalone company.

    Advice to Management

None, you guys were doing a decent job till the acquisition. I guess people should have been smarter when the new CEO came aboard. Looking at his past records he did exactly what he was suppose to, increase the stock price and sell the company. Wish the company got some more time to grow since Ruckus was just acquired. Great job on selling the company for peanuts especially the IP business unit.
