I worked at Broder Bros. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Customers and outside team worked well together .Private label brands were well designed.
There were some experienced sales people who kept the teams strong.

    Cons

Certain Upper management not experienced and some on sales team very arrogant - wouldn't last at other companies with their biases and attitudes .
Commission plans kept changing and no raises were given there even though they had money to hire more upper management . Many employees felt unappreciated. No cost of living raises either.
Very expensive to commute and Trains were a nightmare - most days were 11-12 hours. No compensation for this either . Very noisy office and managers didn't manage the chaos . They kept bringing reps in with no sales experience and expected them to excel with minimal skills. This was all to save money instead of hiring some experienced professionals. Reps kept leaving for better pay and appreciation. There were reps who were promoted because "someone" liked them . They didn't have experience to be in the position. They were chosen.

    Advice to Management

Too many chiefs changing direction with no consistency . They need more synergy between departments. Investment company not aware of how employees were not appreciated or paid so low. Profits are more important than people there. Focus on employees and customers instead of buying so
Many companies and you would build a stronger committed team.

    Pros

The pay is average for a warehouse worker, the job is fairly easy as long as your good with repetitive work.

    Cons

The managers on the decoration side use fear and intimidation methods to get their workers to produce more numbers. This job gave me a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety.

    Advice to Management

Respect your employees. A little can go a long way, not everyone works better or faster when intimidated. Don't over schedule the work load and turn around and make it everyone else's fault.

I worked at Broder Bros. (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to learn new things, easy work sometimes, weekends off

    Cons

Low wage, odd hours, low company moral, no pay raise structure, no managment goals, micro-management, no job security

    Advice to Management

Value each employee as an individual & LEARN & DO the job. How can you coach a team when you dont even know the 1st thing?

I have been working at Broder Bros. full-time

    Pros

There is nothing positive about this company so I'm just going to continue to type until I meet my minimum word count.

    Cons

It's only a matter if time before they get turned in to OSHA and the labor board. This is not a job this is paid slavery. They don't care about their employees and the employees drop like flies. They treat people poorly because most employees need this job and they are fully aware if it and take advantage of the situation. It's dirty, disorganized and the management is terrible. They give errors even when you're off that day and are nowhere near the building. They treat their older employees like dirt if they haven't fired them already or force them to quit with their unrealistic expectations. Why they are still in business is beyond me. I wonder what their vendors and customers would think if they knew what goes on in there. I hope one day someone blows the whistle on this place if my spouse doesn't do it first. I don't how management sleeps at night. I'm sure management has an unlimited supply of antidepressants and benzodiapines just to make it through the work week. I could keep going but if I do I'm going to have a nervous breakdown.

    Advice to Management

Get it together before you are turned in for violating labor laws and health codes and you're stuck picking and pulling in a sub par establishment like this. Would want your children to work in an environment like this? Probably not! I don't think you realize how awful you are and if you do then get out soon before your name is attached to a massive lawsuit that I may one day bring to your establishment. Your employees are not stupid and before you know it one of those employees are going to bring down the hammer in court.

    Pros

    Close to home
    That's it
I have to add more so I guess the potluck was a plus

    Cons

    Micromanagement
    Arduous training
    Poor morale
    Dirty facility
Key cards for every room in building

    Advice to Management

The training is ridiculous, the long, drawn out process is only costly to them. The employee gains nothing from the experience. The management are all lazy and overly critical, works the people like their minions. Literally the worst job I've ever had.
