I worked at Bronson Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Good benefits. Opportunity to learn about the healthcare industry.

    Cons

At least in lower level positions, employees seem unhappy and dissatisfied with lots of moving around and/or talk of leaving. Poor leadership. Too much work, not enough people, metrics driven, difficult to get time off, and not a pleasant work environment. Employees are not respected or valued, just driven to produce the desired (and often unreasonable) metrics above providing the best service to patients.

    Advice to Management

Treat metrics as only a part of the whole. Employees want to be part of a team delivering the best care for the patients. In order to do this they need to feel respected, appreciated, and valued for more than their metrics results. They need to be given the resources, pleasant work environment, and enough time to do their job well. Management needs to develop good leaders at all levels who can facilitate functional and healthy work environments, as well as effectively deal with personnel issues. Bronson wants to provide the best care options for patients, but to do this you have to care first for your own people who deliver all the needed services and care.

I worked at Bronson Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

As we switched to Bronson, all the managers were included in the work groups to learn more about BHG and being a good manager through their "New Leader Pathway" program to help orient all new leaders. They also offer other learning opportunities and help you to have a good overall balance of activities both personally and professionally. It helps to make you a better manager and understand the company's mission, standards for excellence, and to succeed at being a better manager.

    Cons

It's difficult to switch from one area of interest to another.

    Advice to Management

Continue to watch and manage your transparency, remember to follow through with your promises, don't get too caught up in the requirements that you forget your employees--from the bottom to the top--are people and have every day challenges of their own. Make all the great learning programs mandatory for all staff, not just managers. Great job.
