Pros
The culture is relaxed and welcoming. There's a sense of work hard/play hard but different from my previous employer - there's more professionalism and harder work to go along with the play hard/great culture. The office space is amazing and really allows you to get to know your team and be comfortable while working. There's all kinds of areas you can relax in to get some work done if you need to get away from your desk. The transparency in the Quarterly Business Review with the CEO and other leaders has been refreshing and the WIN program (Women in NetSuite) fostering women's leadership is motivating and energizing.
Cons
The new hire orientation could have been better but I understand there's still a transition happening between combining NetSuite ways and Bronto.

the stars are disappearing
Apr 11, 2016 - Software Engineer in Durham, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Leadership team really does treat staff like human beings. Mostly. They definitely live the work hard, play hard mentality. Variable compensation since the NetSuite acquisition has gotten better (ESPP, RSU's). While there is an org chart, nobody ever really cared much about it at Bronto when it came to who you had lunch with or caught up with socially. We're all just people, some in roles with greater organizational responsibility than others. 40 hour work week is typical. Work/life balance is real. Glassdoor doesn't reflect it yet, but the Bronto division of NetSuite is now led by a great woman executive. There's been more emphasis lately on figuring out how to bring gender diversity to Bronto.
Cons
Since the NetSuite acquisition, a lot has changed. Bronto's leadership has resisted a lot of it, but the malaise of a giant corporation that grew too fast is creeping in and pervading, corrupting everything about Bronto that was once good. It should be noted that the CEO that everyone loves, Joe Colopy, and his partner Chaz Felix are no longer with the company. So their Glassdoor ratings should not be considered here. Bronto as a company no longer exists. You should be looking at NetSuite for reviews now. Budget cuts and bureaucracy have sucked the joy out of a lot of the work. The "play hard" is not gone yet by any means, but has been curtailed a good bit since NetSuite took over. Racial and gender diversity can be bad, much worse in some divisions than others (Engineering is mostly white men, marketing is mostly white women, etc). People With Disabilities aren't really seen, and it might have something to do with the office space not being PWD accessible. For a Durham company, the staff directory is remarkably caucasian. There is almost no such thing as a career path here. Unless you got in early, you might (if you're lucky) make it to the first line of management. Those who have made it that far tend to get stuck. There's been quite a lot of attrition since the acquisition. My star ratings take into account that this is NetSuite we're talking about here, not Bronto. Bronto doesn't exist anymore as anything more than a branch of NetSuite's org chart.

Great company, great culture, great opportunities
Mar 19, 2016 - Account Executive in London, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Bronto Europe offers a great work environment in one of the best location in London. Great commission structure, if you are a good sales, you will make money. Bronto is owned by Netsuite which ultimately offers exposure for professional development. Their product is highly competitive in the market place which eases the sale.
Cons
All the cons that are tied to a sales job. It is not an easy job and you will have to work hard if you want to be successful. Do not expect to work remotely, Bronto Europe still has a start up dynamic in many respect.

Pros
Bronto has a positive culture. Monthly company lunches provide an overview of the business. I am part of the engineering organization and we have interesting technical problems to tackle due to the client growth and scale. There is a decent social culture amongst the engineers. Good work life balance.
Cons
The compensation seems ok compared to other mid-size software companies in the area, but it is lower than what the bigger companies offer. Despite weekly Friday post work beer gatherings, there is not a lot of interaction between the various parts of the organization. Mostly engineers interact with engineers, sales with sales, etc. There is more work to do than the engineers can get done.

Amazing Marketing Team!
Apr 24, 2018 - Senior Events Manager in Durham, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The Marketing team at Oracle Bronto is the best group that I've had the pleasure to work with during my career. Susan Wall is passionate about her people and always there to support the team.
Cons
The company was acquired by NetSuite and then NetSuite was acquired by Oracle. The double acquisition was challenging for the team.

Pros
Bronto has a fun and exciting culture to be part of, sharing similar values. To add to this, the work never gets dull. Definitely no regrets about moving to Bronto and plenty of opportunities for the future within the organisation.
Cons
I have to say there is no real negative things to point out. Working in a different country to the head quarters always presents new and different challenges. While at times progressing through complex issues can be a bit delayed due to this, it is only more knowledge and character building allowing a certain independence for both self and team to be formed.

Pros
Bronto provides a warm and inviting culture built on openness and collaboration that makes working here a blast. I always feel like my opinion is important and will be heard, and that I have the full support of my team. And the office space is very cool!
Cons
I've only worked here three months but so far I have no complaints!

Not what it used to be since it's acquisition.
Jul 18, 2019 - SoftwareRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Flexible WFH/Remote Schedule, Relaxed informal work environment, Nice facilities.
Cons
All of the Cons come since the original Netsuite, and then Oracle acquisitions, Free Snacks/Beverages cut back. Social, Community, Etc Committees have lost all budgets used to plan employee activities. No more yearly holiday party. Slowly being absorbed into the larger corporate entity. The are slowly stripping our culture away from everything that made us Bronto.

Nice people, but a dead end with no advancement or real raises
Feb 28, 2013 - Engineer in Durham, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Coffee machine was good and the ATC campus is pretty nice. Some interesting projects and cutting edge technologies.
Cons
Starting pay was on the medium to low side, but to compensate for any possible charitableness shown to you during the hiring process raises were measly; usually around 2% for exceeding expectations. Almost all benefits were offered at the lowest levels so HR can advertise to prospects, but the company doesn't have to do anything like spend money. It seems all effort and money were spent attracting new people and adding to the cool factor of the office space. Managers were constantly pushed to find ways to cut bonuses and the bonus program itself was refined regularly to make sure a minimal amount is paid out. Ridiculous things like working in the kitchen once a year, upper management pushing company photo opportunities, sharing hotel rooms when going to conferences and being required to fly the red-eye and then work the following day also detracted from any enjoyment working at Bronto might have brought. Mid level management is usually semi-decent although many have little real experience outside Bronto and tend to be seagull managers that try to mentor with 'funny' aka juvenile quotes. Promotions are minimal outside of superficial new titles mostly given out to sales people since that might entail a raise or some other extreme measure. Career path is defined as working in the same position with the same title so you can take your sabbatical (to be fair sabbatical and PTO are nice.) Senior management outside of engineering was and looks to still be generally old timers who just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Childish threats like taking away the foosball are apparently used now when upper management is unhappy. Smoke and mirrors is the general modus operandi for this company.

Pros
I truly love working here. I have the best leadership here at Bronto than any company I've worked for in the past. My management truly cares about me and believes in what I do. They live by our values (transparent, approachable and passionate). My hours are flexible so I can work the hours that fit my life. My team members are intelligent, passionate and encouraging. It's a great atmosphere to be in!
Cons
There isn't a single con for me.
