I have been working at Brookdale Senior Living full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Love my co-workers, great team work, and fair management.

    Cons

Just like anywhere, the budget interferes with comfort level sometimes. Would like more consistent ratio of staff to resident. Overall not bad though.

    Advice to Management

Continue to work the floor on occasion, know what issues staff have with decisions made behind the desk. Keep up the good work!

    Pros

Brookdale is a great company to work for. They are flexible with work schedules, and will promote people quickly if they see promising potential. They also do their absolute best to ensure that their residents' are satisfied and well taken care of.

    Cons

The job is emotionally taxing at times. The residents' are so sweet, that it is easy to become emotionally invested in them which makes losing them hard to bear. But, obviously, the same can be said for other areas of the healthcare profession. If you aren't good at compartmentalizing your emotions while at work during tough situations, then this probably isn't the profession for you.
