I have been working at Brookdale Senior Living full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Schedule is doable for working parents. Some advancement in career possible. Well organized.

    Cons

Pay should be a lot more, but is equal to industry standards. Hard to keep quality people employed so high turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Pay a lot more to resident assistants. Be willing to pay for agency caregivers when someone calls out so we aren't shorthanded.

I have been working at Brookdale Senior Living full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Meaningful work, Residents, Easy to get entry level experience, Some good people can be found, Benefits

    Cons

Mediocre Management, Minimal Resources, No Flexibility, Money Hungry, High Expectations but Low Motivation, High Turnover, Don't Hire from Within, Little to No Training Time for Management

    Advice to Management

Occupancy is not everything. Focus on the quality of the people and their positions. Paying a little more up front for good, solid resources would save money and time in the long run. Every district is run very differently - some places are a pleasure to work, some are painful.

    Pros

    No pros to speak of.

    Cons

The manager at this facility is horrible, poor training, and does not care about the well-being of the residents. The place is filthy constantly, and the caregivers are a dime a dozen with very high turnover.

I have been working at Brookdale Senior Living full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The residents are the best part of the job.

    Cons

The RCA positions have a high turnover. Too many untrained people/ people with bad attitudes unwilling to learn. Makes my job difficult. Also management never seem to be on the same page.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring people so fast. Look for more quality RCAs. Let go of the employees that have bad attitudes and don't do their jobs. Ensure that all people who hit the floor are fully trained.
