I have been working at Brookfield Properties full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You have the ability to work across the organization at all levels. You are able to contribute and make changes so you can meet the needs of the business. If you have a voice it will be heard. Very caring culture! Fast-paced environment, one will need to think swiftly and strategically at all times.

    Cons

I have been working at Brookfield Properties full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Brookfield is a huge company with obvious aspirations to continue its growth. Will likely exist for a very long time, depending on your position. You will have great job security.

    Cons

Corporate office is disconnected with its Multifamily. They poorly planned budgets for the year and definitely do not understand their demographics at each property. The way the properties are ran, it is easy to see they copy and pasted other property templates and used it across the board. Properties with crime, resident issues, and high volumes of complaints aren’t addressed properly or at all. Failure to adapt will and has caused many people to leave the multifamily side in less than a year. Hiring/recruiting for the multifamily division is by far one of the worst things in the company.

I have been working at Brookfield Properties full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The pay is great, almost too great actually because if you're unhappy here it will be difficult to find a comparable salary elsewhere. Health benefits and 401k matching are the best I've had from any company. Overall, colleagues are pleasant to work with and most people are committed to doing a good job.

    Cons

It seems like the company is still having growing pains two years after the acquisition of the multifamily division. It's difficult to contribute new ideas or make changes to any process because it has to be commented on or approved by a dozen different people first. Sometimes it feels like people don't actually know what their job duties are, and it's confusing to figure out who might have the answers.

I worked at Brookfield Properties full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Strong financial position and growing even during an economic downturn. Although a global asset manager, the leaders all the way up to the parent company are human and down to earth.

    Cons

Large company without a lot of structure in how they work which they will probably need as they grow.
