I have been working at Brookfield Residential full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Company culture is incredible. Many fun team events and outings. Catered breakfast every Monday & Wednesday, lunch on Fridays. Annual bonuses and salary increases. Great leadership in my department

    Cons

Sometimes there’s a lack of room for growth in certain departments but if you have a good relationship with your manager they are open to discussing it and trying to figure out your next step. They really try to promote within and give opportunities for growth but sometimes it’s hard

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in promising employees

I worked at Brookfield Residential full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    Well-funded, nice office, good benefits

    Cons

President was a Hammerhead shark with legs, made bizarre hires of soulless robots or vicious corporate infighters to manage the company. His son worked there and mysteriously dodged the massive layoffs that affected everyone else at his level.

    Advice to Management

Rebuild the Austin operation from the ground up, try to get the old President back who was a great guy. There's no excuse to be sucking wind in this economy.

I worked at Brookfield Residential full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits, run away from this company

    Cons

Poor training, impossible expectations, slow reimbursement, in experienced upper management, you will spend the majority of your time here filling out forms in every computer files, PDF, Excel, Word, BMT, Docusign, Punch list Manager, and dont even go into gow many different places selections are kept. Specs dont exist. This place shouldn't be allowed to build a sandwich let along homes.

    Advice to Management

Properly train your people. Stand up when you tell the people under you the wrong thing and take responsibility.

I worked at Brookfield Residential full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Good Benefits, and free breakfast on Fridays

    Cons

Pay is horrible for the amount of work you do. When I asked for a raise after absorbing another employee's job, in essence doing 2 people jobs, i was told NO!. I often felt my talent went unnoticed and unutilized. My department manager never spoke to me, not even a Hi or How are things going...not a word. There is a lot of gossiping and people talking bad about others, and the environment is very unprofessional. They...

I worked at Brookfield Residential full-time

      Pros

Vacation policy! Lunch every Friday, breakfast every Monday and Wednesday. Great camaraderie between lower level employees.

      Cons

Some of the higher level employees have been there far to long. It is still very much a boy's club. HR does nothing. Pay is low. No flexibility in working hours. No room for growth.

      No opinion of CEO

I worked at Brookfield Residential full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Great benefits, 3 weeks paid vacation + sick time, employer match on 401k, nice company culture, good work-life balance. Overall I really liked the company and the people. I would have stayed indefinitely if I felt more fulfilled in my role and could afford the city I lived in.

      Cons

Does not pay a living wage for the city that they are operating in. I was nickel and dimed for over 6 months when I asked for a raise that covered cost of living after absorbing another employee's job. I often felt my talent went unnoticed and unutilized. My department manager never spoke to me. IMHO the higher ups lacked vision and were ok with putting out an out of date product as long as it was inexpensive. A lot...
