- Opportunities for advancement - Training opportunities available (ie cake school, food handler license) - Payday is every Wednesday - Receive an extra $1 per hour when work on Sundays
Cons
- Schedule inconsistent (one week could include both closing and opening shifts) - Schedules are released on Friday for week that literally starts the next day - Company values partners being overqualified and underpaid - Employees can’t afford to shop at Brookshires because prices are so high and wages so low - Employee discount is 5% once a week which customers can also get if they are enrolled and active in the Thank You card program

Pros
Is very flexible with your schedule, most of the staff is ok outside of the late shift courtesy clerks
Cons
All requests for time off must be put In a week in advance, other courtesy clerks actively avoid doing their job anyone left at the front pretty much has to cover all the lanes. Boss has favorites that can do anything and not get fired. All front end employees are part-time and normally work 15 to 25 hours (No one gets over time) and 9 dollar an hour is under payed for the stuff you have to put up with

Pros
If you’re willing to put in work and do your best job it will pay off!
Cons
It can be overwhelming at times being short handed.

Steady hours, for the most part. Unless it's close to a holiday, you can have your scheduled time off.
Cons
Only Christmas and Easter off. Weekends, and other holidays aren't off. You need to work before, during and after the holidays to get holiday pay. Most of the time you get your scheduled time off that you request.

Only shop there for the discounted meats

Only reason I discovered was that the company promoted within instead of pulling someone that hasn’t worked for the company
Cons
The moment that you dont seem useful to them anymore that is the moment you are replaceable . To much of over worked an under paid an never follow through with what you are told by management , in other words they give you the run around

Pros
Flexible, Easy, slow paced, okay, nice coworkers
Cons
we had a manager who would literally come to our department just to harass employees. If you did your job good he would come over to point out all the wrong and openly tell employess he hated all of us and if he had his way he would fire us all.

I've only been there a a few months, and my schedule is consistent. M-F 8-5 no weekends. Easy money, not burdened with responsibilities My store has great managers, A wide variety of benefits even pet insurance laid back environment flexible time off management is always available, very approachable they listen to you
Cons
My only issue is self-checkout. Probably because im from a small town but the customers can be rude at times expressing their dissatisfaction towards self service. claiming it is going to replace us. Stores are audited frequently, so you have to stay in self service, when alot of the time there aren't customers so it can get quite boring.

There was no pros other than okay pay and even then good luck getting it.
Cons
They play favoritism hard, they don't care about their employees, I've seen their own employees lose their house over not being paid enough and having our hours cut randomly, will get written up even if you have physical proof of why you called in. They don't care about disabilities one bit, the market and hire ups would constantly make jokes at and mock their special needs employees, most of the hire up people legit act like their highschool popular girls and it's exhausting all the time. We were expected to be at work the SECOND they asked you to on your day off but would never treat their own employees with respect so why would we jump to helping out?? Oh and if you wanna move up you better hope you're male cause they have those good ol christian ideas that make them think only men can be moved up. It's been openly stated by multiple people. The vacation pay, the benefits, the environment, everything is horrible here. Also care about your departments more. There's no need for a meat market of 5 having to split 250 hours between the five of us and then you factor in one of the managers has to have 40 hours and the main manager is a 48 hour manager. That's 54 hours between the other three. Good luck paying any of your bills when you're randomly slapped with 15 hours a week.
