I worked at Brookwood Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As an employee and a patient while having my daughter, I enjoyed this company above many others. There was plenty of staff in the event that you required day or more off, management very flexible with staff requesting schedule changes, and very knowledgeable staff (another positive for schedule changes). I must include the medical staff. All of the surgeons that I worked with and came in contact with were EXCELLENT!! At times people think that doctors are intimidating. The surgeons at BWMC were approachable, caring, and very personable. To this day I still think of and miss this amazing group of physicians and staff.
As I began labor pains in surgery, I quickly transitioned into a patient. As a patient with my only child I didn't know what to expect. My L&D nurse was supreme. She went above and beyond.
It's all good at the Wood!!

    Cons

With my tenure of 17+ years of working in surgery, at this time I cannot think of a con for BMC OR.

    Advice to Management

❤️❤️❤️Carrie Burton was the BEST-EVER charge RN!! ❤️❤️❤️

I have been working at Brookwood Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Sign on bonus, pay is good, residency program for new grads, cafeteria food is okay, Starbucks, employee parking deck/ free parking

    Cons

"Over the mountain" attitude, several new hires (why?) , barely time for lunch, elevators take forever, so get used to taking the stairs.

I have been working at Brookwood Medical Center part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good co workers, good pay. Cheap benefits

    Cons

Management sucks. It's too many people paying the boss. They pass your problems on to each other. So there's no accountability in the psych department. Rules change by the day.

    Pros

Coworkers are nice and management is willing to help you with personal needs as in time off or work around school schedule.

    Cons

Pay is extremely low. You are taking on a lot of work and the pay does not come close to all the responsibilities. Other hospitals pay way more.
