I have been working at Broward Community College part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great way to manage studies and work

    Cons

Very strict "no electronics" rule for part-timers

    Advice to Management

Don't make orientation a require for every semester for every tutor. Only new tutors really need to be oriented. If nothing has drastic has changed, just email the old tutors.

    Pros

One of the best rewards of working for BC is that you have a big family to turn too when needed. You meet individuals from diverse backgrounds and somehow you have immediate family members. Serving this institution for 13 years has allowed to give back to our new students and community on various levels.

    Cons

Not all departments are able to participate in workshops or activities due to the limited staffing in various areas. Everyone should be able to experience the BC family atmosphere to promote comradery.

    Advice to Management

Look inwards for advancement of current employees.

I worked at Broward Community College (More than 5 years)

    Pros

As a part-time adult education teacher in the ESOL department, I was able to accept assignments that fit my schedule and location. It was interesting to meet new students in the classes each session and learn about their different cultures.

    Cons

The paycheck didn't arrive until the entire 6-week session was over. That was the only negative I found.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the adult education classes!
