I have been working at Brown Trucking full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Home every night, great equipment, decent pay

    Cons

Seniority doesn't mean anything not as many drop and hooks as they say 65mph trucks

    Advice to Management

Make seniority mean something try and get more drop and hooks and do something about local drivers setting 3-4hrs waiting for back hauls eithet pay hourly for local or salary

I worked at Brown Trucking (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Steady income, stability. A lot of work.

    Cons

Very low pay, pay increase less than a quarter, nepetisum, Friends bringing on friends, no overtime. People are not friendly. But... if you go to work for just that to work you will be just fine.

    Advice to Management

    Respect and pay your employees.

I worked at Brown Trucking full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Even though they work with a whole lot of people, the staff still try and treat you like a friend/family.

    Cons

Apparently it USED to be a great company but many things have changed (income). Their advertisement is still from the old days and it's not accurate.

    Advice to Management

I hope that Joe updated his advertisements. You guys do the best with whatever the HQ throws at you and I respect you for that.

I have been working at Brown Trucking full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Feels like a smaller company then what it is.
    Good home time
    Easy work
Not sure what else to say

    Cons

Money is very poor, you start out making 22% of the load but most loads are flat rates so when dividing money into hours you come out to be less then 10 bucks a hour.
You will be lied to about pay they say 800 to 1000 a week this is not true at all you avg 100 bucks a day for 10 to 14 hour days

    Advice to Management

Tell the truth about pay people are take ing you at your word and going broke

I worked at Brown Trucking full-time

    Pros

Everyone was very nice and helpful. I got to stay home daily. The pay was not to bad.

    Cons

No overtime. Worked in the heat and in the cold. The spotter truck was a little older than I was told it would be. I've never had to dolly so many trailers up and down in a spotter truck before. Every one had to be dollied. Unusual for a spotter to have to do.
Worked Three 12's one week 36 hours low check and four 12's the next with 8 being OT. I would have preferred 4 12's.

    Advice to Management

Make sure people know they have to dolly every trailer twice. Get better equipment. Other than that the insurance is great and the people are fabulous.

I worked at Brown Trucking full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company is well established, good benefits and salary

    Cons

To much politics involved, while trying to learn their company expectation are set to high at first. No time to train and learn their system but rather learn it on the fly which creates failures for anyone who strives to be their very best.

    Advice to Management

Take time to grow your new hires, its well worth your time and efforts. Great company though.

    Pros

Not many now days used to be a better company

    Cons

no raises, benefits are average at best, and EXPENSIVE (300 a week for a family) Computer system is slow, ancient and often shows different results than the truth

    Advice to Management

invest in your technology, its awful

I have been working at Brown Trucking full-time

    Pros

Flexible schedule if you need off last minute, or need to work different hours they seem to work with you.

    Cons

No opportunities to progress, no pay increases, no growth, everyone thinks they are your boss (at least mine), parking is awful, pay is not comparative to experience.

    Advice to Management

Pay your workers, streamline processes across the board, and make all terminals follow these processes.
