    Cons

If you are right out of college you will struggle to gain your footing as they offer little no training

    Pros

Decent bonuses, plenty of happy hours (& free food during the day) with partner carriers

    Cons

Not necessarily a con for me but for many others; the bigger offices tend to have a many younger people working there and it feels like HS/college again with the amount of gossip. Only way to advance is to be in the broker in training program and take the production/broker route. Anything else and you'll always be passed up for raises, extra activities, recognition & advancement.

    Pros

-Okay Pay -Decent Benefits -There are some good people who work here, but not all.

    Cons

Be very Careful before you quit your current job to work here. Training is very limited. I received training only from employees who were nice enough to take time out of their day to show me how things were expected. Other than that your pretty much expected to figure it out on your own. If you don't figure it out you will get the Boot. Training is limited You are either in the Clique or your not. Management does not hide favoritism.

Lack of guidance and formal training. Upper level management is lacking creativity and unwillingness to listen to the boots on the ground driving revenu.

    Pros

Great team on the commercial side.

    Cons

Manager has no management experience. He walks around like he is top dog because he is the only personal lines agent in the office. He is not helpful during training and takes your leads as your own.

    Pros

Great roll out program. There was a lot of travel. Good exposure to testng methods. Good first job out of college. a nice level of independence. The per diem when traveling is nice.

    Cons

The company doesn't really give much training and they do not seem to care if you end up being successful in your future role. They seem to want people to go into sales and if they don't then it doesn't really matter how well they do.

    Pros

Immediate benefits support team was equitable to family, with even most squabbles handled within. Teammates helped each other without request.

    Cons

Pay was so below local market standard that after I left a recruiter called and asked why I had worked there for 7 years. Support staff of which I was one, was considered expendable on a regular basis and it was not uncommon for local management to be outright untruthful. Salespeople, even unproductive salespeople are lauded financially and with material perks while a support team award program was reduced from monthly $100 prize to a quarterly program with a thank you note. Training was minimal and on current industry changes was left to local management's decision where cost was ALWAYS final determinant. No upward career paths, encouragement, professional development or interaction with peers in other offices. Local management of IT seemed incapable of upgrading technology & tools to effective softwares complete with adequate training especially if only for support staff.

Very clique-y, no room for growth unless with the "in" crowd

Dec 17, 2018 - Anonymous Employee in Jacksonville, FL

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Stock plan is decent, good PTO, good amount of holidays off. Office does monthly "Fun Fridays" and other office parties

    Cons

Promises for growth and career advancement never materialize, constantly moving the 'carrot' to avoid promoting you and allowing you to grow beyond where you are, unless you are 'in' with the right people. Very low pay in comparison to other companies. Feels like high school all over again, very clique-y and lots of backstabbing and gossip going on. Some middle management are great, but others seem to be on a power trip and want to keep their thumb on you, not help you succeed. They seem annoyed when you ask questions and need help learning something. Training is extremely minimal and you are left to flounder.
