    Positive Outlook

I worked at Brownlie & Braden, LLC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Ability to wear multiple hats. Frequent interaction with staff and senior management, which enables you to build strong relationships and gain that experience of dealing with upper management. Ability to contribute, make a big impact and get credit for it. Ability to see the big picture. EXCELLENT benefits.

    Cons

Relocation outside of Texas is non-existent.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    Pros

Promise of huge pay potential, some people are good to work with, good client base if you get to actually meet them

    Cons

High turnover, more than 100% per year for the past 6 years
No upside for promotion or growth
Partners are rude, demeaning to staff
Employees are constantly dissatisfied and leave when there is opportunity
Only 1 employee over 5 years with company and 2 with more than 3 years.
Claim to work with high end families, but in reality, they just sell big insurance policies. Owners are insurance guys through and through and act like cheap used car salesmen.

    Advice to Management

Stop pretending you aren't insurance guys and start treating your employees as valuable to you. Stop yelling at everyone. Get yourself out of debt and start working on retaining employees. Your website is a merry go round of people desparate enough for a job that they come there until they find something better.

    Pros

Small office, Decent base salary, nice facilities

    Cons

Pay is not commensurate with work done, no bonus structure, no such thing as positive reinforcement.

    Advice to Management

Give feedback to employees when they do good work. Don't be afraid to either open up the pocketbook or change the expectation of a "typical" workweek.

"Buyer Beware: Brownlie & Braden is NOT a place you want to be"

    Pros

Good benefits (at least there was)
Nice offices but again, it's a facade
Parking is free and across the street
    Good location

    Cons

    Leadership is nonexistent
    Partners are glorified insurance salesman
Lie to interviewees about turnover, opportunity and culture
Cash flow issues mean no bonuses even though promises are made
Routinely expect 55 - 65 hours per week, even for admin
Yell at people, treat everyone with disrespect
    NO career opportunities
    Huge level of turnover
    No communication with any employees
    Nothing is ever their fault

    Advice to Management

Be who you are; you sell insurance, and without it the company goes under
Stop claiming to be objective when you're selling insurance to 85 year old widows
Stop treating everyone like crap; stop yelling at people; try treating people with respect
Stop lying to potential employees about turnover, bonuses, opportunity, etc
Focus on running a good business and lose the facade; the business is not profitable, not successful, and nobody wants to work there after two months
Take some responsibility and stop playing the role; it's sickening to watch
