    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Brownstein Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Opportunities to explores other strengths and try new things. Management is willing to listen and has a strong desire to be better and smarter.

    Cons

budgetary constraints, cliques and sometimes a "that's not how we do things" mentality which can limit creativity.

    Advice to Management

My advice is always to nip problems in the bud before they become bigger problems. Face issues head on and don't avoid confrontation. Communicate, listen and look for solutions. Have a willingness to try anything.

I worked at Brownstein Group for less than a year

    Pros

    - No dress code - Diverse group of employees - Decent Compensation (I was an unpaid intern, compensation is decent for an agency)

    Cons

As an intern at Brownstein I never really felt welcome. People were superficially nice, but I would often hear them talking about each other behind their backs and could tell that (for the most part) nobody was really genuine. Overall the office culture was very political and cliquey and I very soon understood why people left so often. This being my first internship, I was eager to learn, but never really got the opportunity....

    Advice to Management

Why bother having interns if you're not going to give them hardly any attention (or pay)?

I worked at Brownstein Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

None. I'm so glad I left.

    Cons

They say they are a digital agency -- they are far from it. They pride themselves on great work and great client relationships-- they don't charge their clients for the majority of the work they do. No money = no raises. They say you get unlimited PTO, then casually write in their handbook that for people working there less than 1 year, it's actually 7 days. Talk about false advertising. Their office is disgusting,...

I worked at Brownstein Group full-time

    Pros

Compensation is decent. Nice location in Center City. Some nice, talented colleagues. Great work life balance for an agency (hardly anyone works late). They have some large and interesting clients.

    Cons

No clear path for advancement. Crappy, rundown office. Not a lot of opportunity unless you’re part of the old guard. Very high turnover (they’re hemorrhaging creative talent right now). Very political. Benefits are mediocre at best.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in your workforce.

    I worked at Brownstein Group

    Pros

Not a lot of micromanagement. Flexibility with work schedule Unlimited vacation

    Cons

They constantly hire the wrong people for the wrong positions. They don't thoroughly look at what the open position is going to entail and hire for what they think it is going to be, not what it actually is going to be. This leaves a lot of people with the wrong skill set in the wrong positions.

    Advice to Management

Before you hire someone, make sure that you're really listening to what their skill set is and what they're telling you they want to bring to the position they are interviewing for. If you don't, you will continue to hire the wrong skill set for the position you think you may be looking to fill. I've heard from former employees that your company has a reputation of doing this quite often and having experienced it...

    I worked at Brownstein Group

    Pros

Good people, in general. Lots of talent.

    Cons

Not a lot of work gets off the ground because no one in accounts is willing to push back on the clients at all. PR exists in its own little creepy bubble (and their understanding of social media is really PR-slanted and old school) and the President/CEO is under paying the entire staff probably so he can add an extra wine bar to his basement.

    Advice to Management

    Pay people.
