I worked at Bruce Power full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great pay and benefits Close to nature/the country

    Cons

Not worth the pay! The longer someone has worked there, the more delusional they are. Management is poor, favorites are common and friends of friends get hired. It's extremely hard to implement processes and change. People are so incredibly phony and unprofessional , its unbelievable.

    Advice to Management

Hire more young people, start replacing the older workforce. Regulate pay to make it more fair Communicate better. Develop your leaders. Be honest with your investors/stakeholders when it comes to communicating actual performance don't play games

I have been working at Bruce Power full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Lots of potential for career advancement, managers care about employees, outstanding pay and benefits, many great co-workers, out of the rat race of a city.

    Cons

It's a large corporation located in a small town... there are going to be politics and favourites. Negative stereotype of employees in community from people who don't know better/jealous.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up. Over a thousand managers and you are bound to find some who don't install accountability in their workgroups or for themselves. Address those individuals.

I worked at Bruce Power full-time

    Pros

Great people to work with and a great sense of community. Excellent pay and benefits. Flexible work schedule.

    Cons

Overstaffed with employees with zero experience for their position. All your friends and neighbours work there so you never really leave the place even when not there.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring more management and focus on the people that put the rubber to the pavement. There are too many managers with zero direct reports and zero responsibility.

I have been working at Bruce Power full-time

    Pros

Excellent pay, benefits and other employee perks. Management is well trained and lead by example. Plenty of time off and options for banking excess hours worked. t is exciting to work for a world class facility that is proud of its accomplishments.

    Cons

You need to get used to the high security environment and constant requirement for radiation monitoring, of course this is all for your own protection and protection of the general public. It is a large facility with thousands of employees, however everyone is friendly and it doesn't take long to get to know people.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Some staff engagement issues but this is likely due to personality of individual employees. Some have never worked anywhere else and develop issues with entitlement.
