I have been working at Bruker full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Bruker has amazing design engineers providing cutting-edge innovations in the analytical instrumentation industry. Day-to-day life as an employee focuses on satisfaction of the customers, not bringing up the stock numbers for the upcoming quarter. The company is still small and mobile; there are plenty of opportunities for growth and advancement. This reviewer's impression is that the best days are ahead, it is not an ossifying dinosaur like the big players in this industry.

    Cons

As it is a small company and customers are widespread, travel requirements (domestic and international) are considerable until company growth supplies more regional travel requirements. A downside to the diverse workforce is that cultural and language differences occasionally create communication challenges. Availability of resources and logistics cans sometimes be a challenge because of the small organization.

    Advice to Management

Improve communications! READ emails! Quit re-inventing the wheel. Improving communication will more efficiently utilize resources

I have been working at Bruker full-time

    Pros

Good work environment and corporate culture. Great technological depth in wide spectrum of products – perfect place to learn new things. Nice well-maintained facilities – pleasure to work in.

    Cons

No real career development program. Contacts between different divisions are encouraged, but in practice very limited. Corporate structure can be tricky to figure out.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to internal talent development and better articulate career opportunities. Work on improving interconnections and mutual awareness between different divisions.

I worked at Bruker full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Very friendly coworkers, very dedicated and hard working. Bruker has always been a lean operation but a flat hierarchy encouraged effective communication and coordination between groups. Tremendous knowledge and depth within the scientific and engineering staff along with a willingness to bring in expertise or outside collaborators to advance R&D lead to great agility in new product development..

    Cons

Lean operations often led to heavy work loads.

    Pros

Lots of freedom to explore ideas, even academic ones; management is supportive and fair

    Cons

Compensation is just ok, could be more competitive; company culture is different than other places I have been

    Advice to Management

Better pay or better incentives (especially for this area) would be more encouraging
