I worked at Brunel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great PTO, 401K match, and nice office space. Flexible working hours and decent systems on both the Recruitment and Finance side. Great culture and diversity.

    Cons

Insurance no longer provided at no charge to employees. No set bonus structure. Commissions for Sales/Recruitment paid quarterly. No clear direction from senior management. Trains employees for their job duties and processes rather than for their professional development and future career path.

    Advice to Management

Sales/Recruitment are paid heavy salaries with a poor commission structure. They will rather do the minimum and get by rather than work hard for commission because their base salary is good enough to live rather comfortably. HR should focus on the development of employees and support them in areas of employee relations and training rather than people-watching for minimal infractions; no one likes to be babysat. The Director should meet with office and discuss successes and needs of the business on a frequent basis to boost confidence in employees and their commitment and contributions to Brunel.

I have been working at Brunel (Less than a year)

    Pros

Job security is great! Nice to have a job when oil & gas is on the downturn.

    Cons

Would have loved to have the account manager negotiate a higher pay rate - manager declined the option.

    Advice to Management

Loyalty may come about if holiday pay and/or vacation pay was included, much like many other contract/temp service agencies.

    I worked at Brunel full-time

    Pros

Pay very well, lots of vacation, throw great parties

    Cons

if you are Dutch they like you more. if your a female you are not treated like the males. they trust the all talkers. have no clue what to quote clients when working on proposals, lack of info about what is on the market and competition. there are so many employees that don't do anything but because they come across as confident and make these unrealistic promises they get farther.

    Advice to Management

Stop the discrimination and pay more attention to money being spent on lavish parties , drinking and Volvo race that brought in no money

I have been working at Brunel full-time

    Pros

Very good positive work environment with good co-workers and good work ethic. Very productive and brings the best out of yourself.

    Cons

Location of job and the number of hours asked to work sometimes. The traveling can be a con as well. But overall pros outweigh the cons

    Advice to Management

The management is doing a great job on the project in hackberry LNG. They are on schedule and very competent about the things they want to accomplish.

I worked at Brunel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Staffed with intelligent, highly qualified personnel.

    Cons

Decisions are made based on politics and not facts. Males are favored over females.

    Advice to Management

Stop basing decisions on who is your best mate and base them on who is providing the company with the best results.

I worked at Brunel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I was supported well by my project manager. I received great help from their travel coordinator as I needed to visit with her every two to three weeks. And there are some good people in the payroll dept as well.

    Cons

Once my project manager was promoted, the next manager didn't have a clue. Once I was let go from the client, I didn't get anymore support in any fashion, even though I was an employee for most of three years. They wouldn't even return emails, let alone help me to connect to another client.

    Advice to Management

If it wasn't for the people doing the work for clients, your company wouldn't exist. Employees (Consultants) are your bread to pay your check as well as keeping the company in existence.
