I have been working at Brunswick full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people within the organization are pretty easy going and don't mind assisting others. The executive team has transitioned to a younger staff and more relatable. They are working hard to change the image of Brunswick to attack and retain talented people. It's encouraging to see more women being promoted to the executive level.

    Cons

The divisions within Brunswick are segregated units. They do not collaborate/share knowledge nor resources. Time and money could be saved if there was more collaboration. Brunwick could also work harder at diversifying. There seem to be certain departments which are very good at promoting individuals on their team and other departments do not.

    Pros

Friendly people. Upper management seems to have a growth strategy.

    Cons

Unless you are a male, promotion opportunities are limited. You can remain in a job 40 years here and never really be asked what else you might be interested in doing.

    Advice to Management

Know the skill set of your employees - all of them

    I worked at Brunswick full-time

    Pros

Friendly, fun environment. Work isn't too stressful - you work where lots of people play. Pay is okay, perks are pretty good

    Cons

Management can always use improvement, lots of gossiping goes on, management disconnect from what is going on at various locations.

    Advice to Management

Take into account what the employees are saying at each location, less hours for employees, close on holidays (or less hours) and better pay for employees. Less monthly training.

I worked at Brunswick full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This company was always the number one name in bowling and they always paid the best and had the best benefits.

    Cons

They sold the bowling division to their biggest competitor and did not make arrangements for grandfathering the benefits. Many lost vacation and holidays. We were not high paid executives. We were just hourly employees who some had spent a lifetime for this company.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget this little guy who made you what you are.

I worked at Brunswick (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly environment, good food and employee discount.

    Cons

Some of management was unorganized and unprofessional. The individual does not work for the organization any more. If mistakes are made there is a lot more finger pointing than problem solving. At the renovated centers there is no marketing creativity. The system they use now for sales is also more cut throat than usual.

    Pros

Fast paced with lots of work, if you like boat engines....

    Cons

Very process driven. Very risk averse. Difficult to engage in creative problem solving. Too many meetings.
    Payscale is not competitive. Location.

    Advice to Management

Support creative exploration early, when risk is low.
