    Pros

Friendly people. Upper management seems to have a growth strategy.

    Cons

Unless you are a male, promotion opportunities are limited. You can remain in a job 40 years here and never really be asked what else you might be interested in doing.

    Advice to Management

Know the skill set of your employees - all of them

    Pros

Good pay, good people, good leadership, fun products

    Cons

Publicly traded, over reliance on young, inexperienced MBAs, frequent management changes

    Advice to Management

Bring in people who know the boat business and have a passion for it. Almost all senior managers are there because its a job. Allow others to get promoted, even without an MBA

    Cons

    -Management

    Advice to Management

Supervisor needs to spend more time on the ground floor so they know whats really going on.

    Pros

The company is well positioned in an interesting industry with fun products. It is better equipped to handle downturns than many of its competitors.

    Cons

The company performance is highly subject to economic cycles. This makes a career there unpredictable at best.

    Advice to Management

Management should focus on consolidation of facilities and functions to lower costs. Management should align with the best dealers in each market to drive higher revenue.

I have been working at Brunswick full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people. Excellent product. Very high Safety and Quality standards.

    Cons

Upper management (Brunswick not plants) has lost touch with hourly employees and expectations. Very little of the profit trickling down to the minions. Pushing workforce beyond capabilities.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your workforce, you are driving them away. Promotions coming from the outside, no path to excel from inside. Such a shame.

I have been working at Brunswick full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Brunswick is led by high integrity individuals. There is a commitment to the people of the company as well as doing the right thing even when it's hard.

    Cons

The marine industry can be very cyclical which can cause significant swings in the business climate. There is a real focus on controlling costs which can sometimes lead to too few people to handle all of the work.

    I worked at Brunswick full-time

    Pros

Friendly, fun environment. Work isn't too stressful - you work where lots of people play. Pay is okay, perks are pretty good

    Cons

Management can always use improvement, lots of gossiping goes on, management disconnect from what is going on at various locations.

    Advice to Management

Take into account what the employees are saying at each location, less hours for employees, close on holidays (or less hours) and better pay for employees. Less monthly training.
