I worked at Bryn Mawr Trust full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice people, interesting work, successful department and profitable. Good Benefits.

    Cons

Constant turn over; Seemed to give employees that were there a long time the door right before retirement - very sad, disturbing practice. Changed to a 'closed door' policy pretty quickly in the last six months I was there (2014).

    Advice to Management

As your getting rid of long term employees be aware it could happen to you during the constant mergers & acquisitions happening.

I worked at Bryn Mawr Trust full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Paid holidays, like all banks. Ok benefits, but expensive. They are a pretty stuck up organization and don't care about regular customers unless they have a lot of money, so there's not much good to say.

    Cons

If they find out you're politically conservative they will make things uncomfortable for you. Very "big brother" like. It's more like a cult of conformity rather than a company. Employees are two-faced and will stab you in the back or throw you under the bus so they look good to upper management.

    Advice to Management

    N/A

    Pros

Expanding footprint, some solid coworkers, but they continue to leave

    Cons

Noncompetitive salaries or at bottom range, lack of follow through, very short staffed

    Advice to Management

    Become a client driven culture

I worked at Bryn Mawr Trust full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The team that I worked with. They were hard working and cared about the customers deeply. They tried everything possible to meet sales goals and kept the bank branch operationally excellent.

    Cons

Management is hard driving with sales goals. Despite best efforts and paramount customer service they continue to place associates on warnings and fire them if they do not meet sales goals.

    Advice to Management

Care about your associates and the care with which they treat existing and prospective customers.

I have been working at Bryn Mawr Trust full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

BMT is a 126 year old g community bank with strong ties to the communities it serves. Employees work hard and can see and feel the impact they have on external and internal customers. There is a large investment in technology and process improvement happening so employees have an opportunity to contribute and learn new things. The pace is fact and employees have a variety of things to work on from business as usual items to project planning and implementation.

    Cons

The pace is fast and requires an ability to change directions quickly and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. With the current size, some employees are required to have a generalist level knowledge of multiple areas. This is great for those who like the variety of activity.

    Advice to Management

Continue to seek opportunities to grow the product and service offerings BMT has for the customers. Encourage new ways to seek employee ideas for same.

I have been working at Bryn Mawr Trust part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great company with excellent associates and we do a wonderful job for clients

    Cons

Management does not care for employees. Especially senior managers. They think that all of us are replaceable an act like it too. They take large bonuses and raises for themselves and also eliminate pensions for employees while keeping the pension benefit for themselves. Also, ask about the turnover, wow!

    Advice to Management

A change in management is needed. Old boy network is in high gear. Management acts friendly and then behind your back is not supportive. A number of great workers and friends have been let go.
